An in-depth exploration of Singapore's history and culture through food. Sightseeing and food tastings in Kampong Glam, Little India, Katong and Old Airport Road Hawker Centre. Included are 10+ foodie tastings in 6 hours.
Throughout the tour, you will discover the histories and stories behind the foods that you eat, as well as the restaurants and neighbourhoods that you eat them in. This tour will give you a solid understanding of what it means to ‘eat like a local’ and how Singapore’s iconic dishes became embedded into Singapore’s culture.
Foodie tastings: Kaya Toast or Curry Puff and Kopi, Bak Chang, Kuehs and Laksa in Katong. One or two distinctly Singaporean dishes from a choice of Hokkien Mee, Rojak, Popiah and Carrot Cake at Old Airport Road Hawker. Teh Tarrik, Beef Rendang or Murtabak in Kampong Glam. Dosa and Indian sweets and / or Masala Milk in Little India.

Our food tour in Singapore was fantastic, thanks to our guide Gee Soo. He's not only kind, funny, but also incredibly knowledgeable about the city's culture and history. Each dish he introduced us to in different neighborhoods wasn't just delicious—it also told a story about Singapore. It was a great day filled with amazing food and learning, all made better by Gee Soo's wonderful storytelling.

Our guide,Su Ling, made this Singapore food tour so much fun and educational. Su Ling really puts her heart and soul into this tour and kept it at a comfortable pace. The foods you will sample follow the historical influences of the many cultures that inspired this fairly young country. I was so full at the end of the tour. Bring good walking shoes.

Darryl our guide made the tour even better than I expected. I left the tour early and he made sure I got into a taxi. He did not leave me alone.

Gee See Boo was absolutely incredible. The tour was a great combination of learning about the city and enjoying the foods. The pace was great, it gave you time to appreciate all the foods so you didn’t get too full. Gee Soo Boo was incredibly organised and had thought of everything including cutlery, napkins, sanitisers and plenty of water. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide.

It was so amazing. Gee Soo Boo was the most incredible guide. He was so organised with tissues, water, cups, cutlery etc. He shared so much knowledge about the food and Singapore. The food was from a range of places and we got to try so many different foods but there was no pressure to eat something we didn’t really like. Highly recommend!

Great food, great stories and a wonderful tour of Singapore! We loved our tour guide, Pam and how she weaved food and history together. The six hours flew by!! This is the perfect tour to start your stay in this incredibly diverse and culturally rich town!!

What an amazing walking tour and food tour. Su Ling our tour guide was an amazing energetic person and kept us going as we trekked across the city. Had a phenomenal group of people that I met on the tour along for the ride. You really traverse a breadth of the city trying the different hawker centers little food shops with very different and special aspects of the culture and sight seeing included. Su Ling was attentive, interesting, and informative. Just be aware - pace yourself! It’s a LOT of food :-) and it’s longer than some tours but totally worth it! There were detailed instructions many times before the tour and Su Ling sent a great list of suggestions after it. I had a few allergies, which does change things but Su Ling always had some sort of alternative. Great food, good sights and met some fabulous folks! Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful tour. Pam was an outstanding guide and the history and information was terrific. The food was excellent and she took us to local spots we would not have found as normal tourists. Highly recommend this tour to learn about Singapore and its foods.

What a great introduction to the many cultural influences that shape the food scene of modern day Singapore! Our guide, Gee Soo Boo, was amazing! He was patient, charming, warm, thoughtful and always smiling! He was a clear , confident and passionate guide. At each of the food stops, I could tell that the workers/owners of these neighborhood culinary gems very much liked Gee. At each stop, Gee would explain the the food and history behind it. We visited restaurants, shops and hawker stalls. Before we would leave a place, Gee would review the group’s itinerary and discuss the dishes that we had just experienced. We tried multiple cuisines and learned about the social, historical and cultural significance of each of the neighborhoods and how they all shape to create the fusion that is uniquely Singapore. Our group consisted of eight interesting and inquisitive individuals so the group was small and intimate. The attendees peppered the guide with many questions and he calmly answered them all without hesitation. The time flew by and I feel that I have made new friends. Gee followed up with an email with the name of each of the foods that we tried and the places that we visited. This was a fantastic way to be introduced to Singapore and the rich culinary cuisine of the city. I highly recommend this tour and I would ask for Gee because he is truly lovely and passionate about his job. I have taken many food tours around the world, but this one has to be one of the best!
