Our kids wanted to add this experience right before we left Rome. They were very excited to see the catacombs. And very disappointed to find that it had no capuchin monks as seen in a lot of the advertisements. They felt like they walked through an empty pathway underground. They were very disappointed and I wish that someone had mentioned that the second and the third floors were the ones that had what they were looking for. It was very disappointing.

It was an interesting tour...something I'd always wanted to see. The tour guide was knowledgeable, transportation to and from the catacombs was good too.

If you want short and sweet, this is it! You get just enough of the history and see enough stuff to appreciate what went in to make these tombs. And to know that what you see is just a portion of the whole network of tunnels and tombs is crazy! Our tour guide was entertaining and knew quite a bit of the history! Overall this was the perfect for us!

Mario was absolutely wonderful. He was knowledgeable and witty. The event, however, was a bit disappointing as it was very short. Our time in the catacombs was only 45 minutes. We loved what we saw but thought there would be more.

The tour was easy to book and we were given clear and precise information by the tour operator. Communication on their part was excellent when we asked questions in advance of the tour
Our tour guide , Sam was everything you want a tour guide to be , extensive knowledge , passionate and engaging about the history of the Catacombs , he made you feel relaxed and made the whole tour amazing.

The tour of the catacombs was an interesting and memorable experience! Our guide of the catacombs was very well informed and gave us a lot of information about the catacombs. He was friendly and personable.
The company in charge of transportation was unorganized. Our group of 16 met at the office and were transported in multiple vehicles that arrived over I’d say 10-15 minutes. My party of two was sent to a van with six other people which only had 7 passenger seats. The driver told us to squeeze in. My party went back to office and waited for another van.
When we arrived, the guide met us saying he had been waiting for us. We then joined the rest of our tour group who had been seated in the sanctuary of the church above the catacombs. Unfortunately it just started the tour with a bit of stress.
The tour itself and the guide made up for the rocky start.

Visiting the Catacombs was an excellent tour. The history we learned about the burial grounds was well worth it. We did the shorter tour which was perfect for our family. It didn’t feel rushed but was ample time.
