Really well organised. We paid a little extra for a prompt pick up from our hotel to transfer to the Smithfield terminal and a return coach back at 4pm. As we drove, we got a little tour guide of Cairns. The cable car ride stops at two areas - both give you the chance to see the rain forest close up and also the Barron River falls which are breathtaking. Kuranda is an interesting village with a variety of restaurants and shops- also we enjoyed the Koala Country attraction.
We allowed 6 hours all in and needed all that time - worth perhaps allowing a full day.

We write about the cafeteria at the base of the sky rail - very hot day - an icecream was what we wanted - made our selection - handed over the cash and the response was a big NO !!!
Pay by card only or put it back in the freezer. So we had to!!
Has our way of life stooped to such a disgusting level??
Shape up Sky rail ~ surely you can do better than that?

Excellent trip over rainforest. Got a real appreciation of the environment.
Sadly the return train wasn’t working following cyclone damage.
Spent a few hours in Kuranda.
The Skyrail had excellent staff and excellent facilities.
Good value.

Great day out while in Cairns. The rainforest is massive and breathtaking views from the sky rails . Informative talk and small boardwalk tour by a guide was well worth doing after you get off the first gondola . Plenty of places to eat at the Kuranda markets at the top . Train wasn’t working cause tracks washed out with cyclone late December so back down in the gondola.
Well worth doing for everyone.

A few weeks ago, a big typhoon hit, and the trains were suspended, so I quickly changed to a round trip by bus. On the way, I drove along roads that still bore the scars of flooding to the Skyrail. There were not many customers, so I was traveling alone, but I was able to ride the gondola by myself and enjoy it. The waterfall was very impressive, probably because there was more water than usual.

The Skyrail to top with 2 stops along the way. Very helpful ranger explained the canopy and the animals, mammals and birds in the rainforest. Kuranda is a quaint little town where you start your rail journey. Great experience- loved it.

The Skyrail portion to Kuranda was great, the train ride back was not as impressive. Kuranda is a tourist village with shops and restaurants. The wildlife attractions were ok. It's a good extra day activity, if you have it.

We purchased tickets for the scenic train up to Kuranda and the gondola back. The train up was disappointing, but absolutely loved the skyrail back. The views are amazing.

Had a wonderful day out to Kuranda, went on the sky rail and returned on the train. Spent the day looking around Kuranda and having lunch. Would recommend to any tourists in the area to make the effort to visit Kuranda. The day was great a coach picked us up in Cairns took us to starting point of sky rail and dropped us off at pick up point on return.
