Our guide Barbara was absolutely fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and so passionate about the history of the Vatican and the art inside. She was easy to follow, and always made sure we knew what art we were looking at. She explained in great depth the art in the Sistine chapel as well as the backstory and history of the artists. If you’re interested in history and the bigger picture of what you’re seeing, Barbara is the guide for you! Very very worth it to skip the lines too. Without this tour we would have been waiting 7+ hours to get in. It was a stunning and memorable tour!

We spent 30 minutes in front of a poster in the courtyard while the guide droned on and on. What a waste of time. Such a waste when we could have spent more time walking through the museums. It was almost comical. I will never do this tour again and will discourage anyone from taking it.

My family and I travelled all the way from Atlanta, Georgia, USA for Holy Week and a tour of the Vatican the day before Easter. We arrived at the meeting point at the advised time by Viator only to be told aviator gave us the wrong time. The tour had already started and there were no more tours before our trip ended. We were and are devastated. We spent thousands of dollars and time off to come experience this. We have the email and showed the tour operator who advised they never do yours at 3 pm which was the purchased tour time by Viator. I will never use Viator again and will continue to encourage all of my colleagues and friends to never use them so they don’t ever have to go through such a disappointment. Horrible experience.

Definitely do this...the line to buy tickets, even in February, was enormous. A bit of a curve ball is that you can't pick up your tickets until 15 before your assigned time. However, the office is maybe 4 minutes from the entrance. The museum itself is always crowded but spectacular. An obvious must.

I need to give a huge and much-belated shoutout to Valentina and Around the City for the Vatican tour. Let's just say that through our poor planning we were hopelessly late for a September visit -- but she sprinted with us up to the door and got us in to see the Sistine Chapel right ahead of the close. Valentina and her team are committed to seeing that visitors get the best of this amazing attraction.

The tour company were great, very organised and take you right to the entrance and give you clear directions. Once inside, be prepared for there to be A LOT of people, it's a bit like herding sheep round the museums but ........ it is worth it for that feeling of being in such a historic place. Make sure you also go outside after and stand in St Peter's Square, which is also amazing.

Seeing the Sistine Chapel had long been on my Bucket List. I was aware that the Vatican Museums were vast, but had no real sense of the true scale. Getting to the Sistine Chapel was our focus - we had been to the Colleseum in the morning and our energy levels were flagging - so we walked straight through many of the halls exhibiting the treasures of the Vatican. In our hurry I felt we had missed out, so if returning, would allow plenty of time to see the Museum properly. But, the Sistine Chapel was wonderful! Having seen pictures in books etc I still wasn't prepared for how awe-inspiring it would be. The staff were very helpful - my mother was using a wheelchair - and made sure that her passage around the corridors and into the Chapel was as comfortable as possible. Thank you!

So you want to see the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. We did this tour because we wanted to not wait in line. So did 5 zillion other people. The tour group people were friendly and we found the meeting place easy. The skip the line, we waited maybe 15 min to get in, so that wasn't bad. Once you're in, we shuffled up to the museums (shuffled because of the millions of people touring this). Now you have to go through each museum/room on a snake like trail to get to the Sistine Chapel. No short cuts. It's cool to see the museums and was amazing to see the Sistine Chapel. I'm happy we did this, but it was VERY crowded. Afterwards, we went outside to see St Peter's Square. I kinda wished we spent the time at St Peter's basilica and toured that instead. The square is amazing.

When planning the trip, we wanted to make the most of our time and skipping the line made the entire day more memorable. Staff was very kind and always smiling, knowledgable about the history and most importantly, they treated us like we were guests in their home. I would recommend this experience to both my family and friends.

My trip to Rome was made special by this tour and next time I go back to Rome I am probably going to have another go at it ;)
