The tour was approximately 45 minutes long. Our guide was extremely well informed about Nicolae Ceausescu. Learned so much about him and his family. It was very enjoyable. After the tour, we walked to Herastrau Park. Also very nice.

Very interesting illustration of how communist leaders lived. Some really were more equal than others.

I had a really nice tour, although I don't remember the name of the young lady that offered us the information. The things that marked me were:
Ceaușescu loved peacocks.
Elena "only" had around 300 pairs of shoes 😂
Really nice home...but they had some really ugly pijamas though 😅

There was some confusion because the ticket was not in my name so they could not find the reservation. After about 10 minutes we figured it was in Sebastian’s name’

I booked online and a day before the tour I received the ticket on WhatsApp.
I got the directions, the address and some tips. The tour lasted 45 minutes and the guide was very good. I was very impressed. It's the first time I visit the house of a communist dictator.

The mansion itself was well worth the visit, but the guide spoke so fast and with so little voice inflection that, combined with a somewhat thick accent, he was largely unintelligible. After the first room, I asked if he would please slow his speech down a bit and speak a bit louder as I was having difficulty hearing and understanding him particularly at the back of the group. He said he “would try,” then proceeded to make no change at all.

Main help was with tickets on arrival and this made the experience easy & enjoyable. The guide also explained some history, before the official tour started, which was great.
