Vatican is a wonderful experience and I’d encourage anyone to see it. This tour was fine, but not the best way to experience the Vatican. While kind and entertaining, our guide was difficult to follow. The Vatican was so loud and crowded, it was difficult to hear any of our guide’s commentary on the history. We moved through very quickly. There were so many rooms and artifacts we breezed by. For the price we paid (€150 per ticket) I’d look into a private guide before booking this again. It’s well worth paying for a special experience. If over €150 isn’t in your budget, then this is a fine way to go.

First, when we arrived they were angry at us for being late. They told us we should have arrived 15 minutes early but that wasn’t listed anywhere on our ticket information. From there it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t perfect either. They asked if we wanted to upgrade our experience to include the Basilica, which we did. Then they told us that the upgrade meant we had to stay with a tour group, which wasn’t what we wanted. I have a condition which ends with a lot of pain if I stand still for long periods of time, but walking is good. The group stopped at several locations for much longer than I would like but spent almost no time at all on other locations — meaning I had to hurry to catch up because I wanted to take pictures. Since we had to stay with our group we ended up standing outside and looking at 8x10 pictures of the Sistine Chapel for a good 30 minutes (since you aren’t allowed to talk in the Sistine Chapel), but people talked inside anyway. After getting through, we were able to go right into the Basilica which made it almost worth it to stay with the group. I would recommend the tour, but make sure that you manage your expectations. Skipping the line was worth it either way because the line was long and slow moving.

It was all a bit hectic. Our time was 2.30pm. We arrived at 2.25pm and saw the group leaving. I tried to speak with the guide but he told me to go to the office. They gave me my sticker and wrote 2.30pm and told me to wait outside. Of course, no one turned up. To cut a long story short they recognised that the group left early and they apologised. We then joined the 3.30pm group. And so, I accept it was dealt with well in the circumstances. At 3.30pm, we made our way with the group to the skip the line queue. It was a bit hectic before we were finally through. The museum itself is awesome and overwhelming. You are pushed through a particular route and constantly told to keep moving, due to the enormous amount of visitors. So, unfortunately, the one thing you'd like to do with such incredible art, is the one thing you can't. That is, admire in peace the works of some incredibly great artists and sculptors. My review does not serve to put anyone off, simply to point out the reality. Please do go. It's not one to be missed.

This was a good tour, the guide did her best despite a very chaotic background and other group members wandering off! The children weren’t fully engaged but enjoyed it overall.

Worthy Skip the line ticket. We were pre planned and got an oustanding service from this company. Vatican is always busy with enormous number people. Without buying this ticke could be wait almost 4/5 hours. We are happy to spent with this.

We had questions about our event however no one answered the phone for the 48 hours in advance that we called. I appreciated that the meet up location was an indoor space, however upon entering we were made to feel that there was a problem or something wrong with our ticket, as if we were in the wrong space. We were then directed to wait for someone to pick us up. Someone did show up for us, but another member of the tour group (not in our party) was running late so we were all held up for 15 minutes to leave. My daughter was 18. Each person we interacted with asked us her age. We pre-paid for an adult ticket. They wrote “reduced” on her id label. So when we entered the Vatican our daughter had to leave the group and go stand in line with her ID. It was never explained to us why this happened, so my only guess is the company buying the ticket wanted to purchase her ticket at a discounted “student” rate which was not passed on to us. The skip the line part was extremely fast and easy. Our guide did walk extremely fast uphill with no “stick” to follow - just his hand in the air. They accidentally tagged a member in another group for another tour and when we got to the door someone else had to come get them and take them back for the correct tour. For a non-guided tour we spent way too much money on these tickets. My advice to others would be purchase directly from the Vatican as soon as you know your travel dates. This group seemed disorganized compared to several others we enjoyed.

First and foremost, the knowledgeable and friendly tour guides truly made this tour exceptional. Their passion for the history and culture of Rome was evident in every word they spoke. They had a deep understanding of the city's rich heritage and were able to convey it in a captivating and engaging manner. Their storytelling skills brought the ancient ruins, magnificent landmarks, and hidden gems of Rome to life, making the tour both educational and entertaining.

The organization and efficiency of Heart of Rome were also commendable. The booking process was smooth and hassle-free, with prompt responses to my inquiries. The company ensured that every detail was taken care of, from meeting points to transportation arrangements, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. The itinerary was well-planned, striking the perfect balance between the iconic attractions and lesser-known gems of the city.

They kept changing our time and it was not very convenient for our group. They moved it to an earlier time, but we had another tour booked. They then said it was okay with our original time. Once we got to the spot they told us we then had a later reservation. The one nice thing is the person getting us the tickets did buy us some drinks while we waited. He also worked hard to get us in earlier. Viator was not helpful at all.
