We bought skip the line tickets to The Vatican at short notice
This was our error and therefore the raised cost reflected our mistake
Although how a museum ticket can be $200 confuses me
Tickets were for 4pm
We collected the tickets in person from a ticket venue and were guided to the line for entering the Vatican
Thank you that was helpful
Unfortunately there was a long wait in the skip the line queue and with the added security checks we actually started in the museum at 1650
Also we did not check the time of closure which was 6 pm in April giving a very short time to look around
On reflection booking in advance is the best option
The ticket seller should be informative and say that only 2 hours is allowed for a 4 pm ticket in April
The Vatican itself is a wondrous place full of art and amazing objects
Unfortunately it is also filled with noisy tour guides and large tour groups
Very few respected the silence required for the Sistine Chapel
It is definitely a to do place in Rome but book in advance and do not pay over the odds for tickets
