Tour was great, our guide was a local and expert in historical facts about Venizia. St. Mark’s Basilica is awesome and Doge’s Palace is exceptional. Skip the line for tour groups was worth it, depending on the time of year of visit.

Horrible all around. Showed up 15min early and did not have our tickets for either doges palace or the basicila. Absolute waste of our time and poor communication between the agency and viator!

We arrived as instructed 15 minutes early, only for the guide to be flapping around waiting for more people until after the start time. We then had an immediate “group” toilet stop which took 20 minutes and therefore we had achieved nothing in the first half an hour? The tour then proceeded to be longer and more tedious than necessary which is a shame as we’ve been on some fantastic tours now and sadly this wasn’t one of them.

Rika (Joy) was our guide. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The tour of Doge palace took up the majority of the time. It can be very hot so bring water. There are toilets at the start of the tour. We were disappointed that in the basilica you had to pay €5 to go behind the alter and €7 to go to the museum and gallery/balcony upstairs. This is an expensive tour and these should be included. I found the basilica underwhelming.

Our guide was very knowledgeable. As a former teacher, he often spent time on small, slightly off center details that provided a personable insight into Vantian life and the history that shaped the spaces we encountered. His understanding of messages within each setting provided a deeper understanding that we appreciated as we explored Venice after the tour.

Rita (aka Joy) was an amazing tour guide. She imparted so much history as we went through Doges Palace without making it seem like a history lesson. We did the 1:30 tour on Mo day afternoon and there were very few people and no line ups. Rita also gave great tips on photo opportunities. If you do one tour I would recommend the Doges Palace, St. Marks.
