Rome is filled with Ancient ruins and the remnants of the past. This tour is the perfect way to visit the three most important sites and learn about the times in which they were built and used.

The Colosseum is probably one of the most recognized monuments and is included on the New 7Wonders of the World list. Innumerable Roman citizens walked through the arches and corridors of the famous amphitheater, and now you will do the same, as a captivating guide reveals all the secrets of the landmark’s past.

Next to the Colosseum are the Forum and Palatine Hill. Here you will discover the religious, social, and political center of the Ancient city, still filled with the remains of temples, homes, palaces, and even the abode of the Vestal Virgins. With your guide to navigate you through the tumultuous history of these areas, this will be an experience you won’t forget.

We booked the tour to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill through Tiqets.com. It started at the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill.

Regarding the organization: you get headphones right at the beginning of the tour. Our guide spoke very good German. The headphones had very good reception and you could therefore understand the guide very well even from a long distance.

This tour starts on the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, which was also very quiet and only moderately busy at around 9 a.m. You didn't have to queue. Unfortunately, in retrospect, it was a bit of a shame to start at the Palatine, as you aren't shown all the places and you don't have time to explore on your own. Unfortunately, re-entry (e.g. after the Colosseum) is also not possible.
It felt very rushed, especially in the Forum/on the Palatine. You hardly had time to take a few photos or to take in these enormous buildings ("Please always stay together").
At the Colosseum, you had to wait a bit for security, but thanks to skip-the-line, it went very quickly (especially compared to the other visitors). You have to be pretty precise with the time slot you booked, otherwise you won't be allowed in. But that wasn't a problem for us - we were a bit early and then just let another tour group go ahead, which took about 5 minutes.

Our guide told us a lot, especially on the Palatine Hill and in the Forum, even going beyond the information boards. In the Colosseum, we only went to the arena floor together, where the tour ended. You could then continue to explore the Colosseum on your own, including the grandstand level. The "dungeons", as mentioned in the description on Tiqets, were not visited.

Very knowledgeable guide gave a lot of backstory and tried to make sense of thousands of years worth of civilization and what remains today. Lovely despite being absolutely mobbed with people.

Excellent guide - we learnt so much. She was so knowledgeable. Can’t fault the tour. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to everyone. I booked it in the uk before we set out and it was all very straightforward. The only criticism I had was it was not obvious where the tour started as it has been passed to another company and I was looking for Viator

The guide was very knowledgeable, the italian accent was a bit heavy so we had to pay attention to what she was saying to understand. But the tour was very good!

He fulfilled everything he promised. Highlight for the wonderful guide, Veronica. A true storyteller. Very attentive and careful. Even though the tour was in Spanish, he made sure that the Brazilians present understood everything.
