Darryl was a fabulous tour guide. He was entertaining, and was very informative. He is a transplant to Sitka, but seems to know everything! He has a marvellous breadth of knowledge. He was very clear with his instructions, and we didn’t feel rushed at the sites. In fact, I think the tour might have gone half an hour longer than the two hours it was booked for.

Such a great way to explore all that Sitka offers while in port. Our guide is Native Alaskan and told us about the rich history of this area prior to Russian and European settlement. Thank you for a great day of history and knowledge!

We had a truly fun and memorable time! Our host was funny, informative, and kept us moving. We really enjoyed the nature walk, Totem museum, and raptor center.

We were on a cruise and had limited time at this port and I feel like this really helped us get a great highlight of Sitka and left us wishing we had more time to explore. We also had a great tour guide, Tamzen was a fantastic, knowledegable, friendly. She also took great photos (which is super special for us, as we were traveling with the grandparents. She was also very kind and patient with our kids and totally felt comfortable with them (ages 10, 7, 2) patient with their questions (older kids) and diapers (youngest). :) Regarding the activities, I think our favorite was Fortress of the Bears. Overall, it was such a lovely experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sitka. She left us wanting to explore more. :)

We booked a private tour since my Mom uses a mobility scooter. We were able to take it on this tour since it folded up nice and small. Tamsyn was our guide and she was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about her hometown, very friendly, and very helpful. We had a great time going at our own pace.

Firstly Rhonda was so helpful when our cruise ship altered its itinerary and we were able to rebook our tour (twice). We were 6 friends travelling together and we had a fabulous day. We booked a private car to take us to the various locations, so that we could visit at our leisure and not feel rushed and we were so glad we did. Our driver was lovely, she explained many interesting things on the way and gave us plenty of time to view the things that mattered most to us i.e. the bear sanctuary and the raptor centre. We would definitely recommend Sitka Wildlife Tours.

We didn’t book this tour directly, one of our family members did so I can’t comment on the ease of the booking process. I believe they had to adjust the time a bit but this wasn’t an issue because our time in town from cruise as most of the day.
Our tour guide Sharon picked us up from the visitor center without incident. We told her we weren’t all that interested in shopping and wanted a more authentic experience, with maybe a bit of hiking. She took us to the Raptor Center, Fortress of the Bear, and to the beach area where the totems were made. Even made a photo stop at a breathtaking location. We walked a few short hiking trails. Sharon was informative and personable! We got some amazing pictures and getting into each location was easy, without having to worry about tickets or wait time. Would definitely recommend this tour to do “all the things” in the Sitka area in a short amount of time.

We took the private Sitka premium tour and went to Alaska Raptor Center, Fortress of the Bear and the totem area. Our guide was Sharon and she was fantastic! The tour was definitely our highlight in Sitka! The tour itself was run very efficiently. We didn’t have to wait for anything and for extra fun, all the birds and bears were super active when we went. Rhonda, who runs the wildlife tour logistics, was super helpful when I needed to change locations and I would highly recommend this private tour for anyone wanting to see the amazing parts of Sitka in just a few hours.

What an amazing trip. We had the best guide, he has lived in Sitka for 56 yrs and knows everybody and everything! Great small group setting. Fortress of the Bear is a must!!
