I was looking forward to seeing Silfra, as the idea in being in ice cold water with 120m of visibility sounded amazing. It was pretty windy, rainy, and cold out, but the team was all prepared and had a smooth operation from start to finish. Our guide, Denise, was great. While I have done a lot of cold plunges and handle cold well, my wife was not so thrilled about jumping into 2°C water and was contemplating bailing out. Denise did a good job reassuring her and guiding her through it.
The gear provided also worked well, as their drysuit worked very well with no leaks. I would advise wearing double socks, as I only had one layer of wool socks and my feet were frozen. Your hands are going to be frozen, but not much you can do about it with the gear provided. My wife managed it well, and the snorkel is about 20-30 minutes, so doable for just about anyone.
The snorkel itself was not as great as I hoped. Yes, the water is super clear and it's cool being in between the tectonic plates, but the water wasn't that deep, maybe 15-20m at most. I had imagined the water was very deep, so that you would see 120m down, which would be surreal. I realize they meant you could see 120m horizontally, which is difficult with snorkeling in a dry suit as it is extremely buoyant so you can't really appreciate that easily. So perhaps my expectations were off.
But that's just my opinion. The team at Dive.is did a fabulous job and would recommend them to anyone who wanted to do this snorkel or dive.

Nice tour overall quim was fantastic got some nice shots of everybody weather was great as well the equipment didn’t smell bad was happy with it

We loved the snorkling tour! Denise was a great guide and made the tour a lot of fun. We did the tour in a group of 5 which was great! The pictures of the tour are very nice :)

Hands down one of my favorite experiences!! Our guide, Veli, was more than welcoming and friendly. He helped us suit up, explained some of the history of the fissure and national park, made sure all people in our party were comfortable and safe.
The fissure itself was just amazing. The most beautiful and purest water I've swam in, and not as cold as you'd think with a layer of clothing & wet suit pieces. Make sure you take a sip, too!!
My only 'downfall' was I personally would've loved to be able to dive down and get more than a 'birds eye view' of the fissure. Those wet suits make it perfectly impossible to sink below the surface!
I was a part of the first group of the day at 8am and I highly recommend. We had no other groups/crowd to swim around, and we were able to take our time and take in the views leisurely.

The snorkeling tour was really awesome and Avelino was a great guide. The hot chocolate after the snorkeling was also nice. Would highly reccomend it

The experience was unique and our guide Konrad was excellent. The uniform we wore was 100% waterproof so we didn't feel cold at all. Only the gloves had an issue, so our hands were a little bit freezing but all good!!!

We had the best time snorkeling with Diogo! The staff at Dive.is is awesome - from the office managers who helped us navigate to the location, to the dive leaders who kept us laughing the ENTIRE TIME, this whole experience was magical. Diogo was the best - he was super informative and his instructions were great. He is an incredible guide! Thank you all so much - Diogo's Gorls miss you already!
