Shore Excursion to Rome from Civitavecchia Port

Worth it. Driver was just a driver did not add to the trip hence why it was rated 4 *. How can you not love seeing all these iconic places.

We would not have seen as much in the allotted time if we had not taken this excursion. We covered a lot of territory thanks to the expertise of our driver. He was amazing in that crazy traffic of vehicles and pedestrians. A heads up, there is not enough time to enter St Peters Basilica, too many people, you would need a day just for that. We’re happy we did what we did in the allotted time.

For the brief time we were in Rome - didn’t miss anything that we wanted to see - got a great overview - wish we had more time but that’s true for all vacations.

Good pick up arrangements helpful driver. Taken to all places of interest with ease. Driver had sound awareness of direction and made visits easy

Max was very informative and very good at getting us around Rome. We got see all the sites but will have to come back for more!

The excursion was great. Saw all the major sights. Had time for lunch also. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Our driver was great, at first it wasn't certain whether we would be able to dock (AIDAcosma), but he waited for us for 4 hours and was in constant contact. He then went through all the sights with us, with a short explanation on a tape beforehand, we had enough time to see everything and the highlight was the Colosseum at night.
Back on the ship on time and bought flowers for his little princess as it was her birthday that day!!
A great man and a great tour guide, highly recommended!!

The driver met with us on time at the Cruise Port and returned us on time.
Initially he did not introduce himself but instead went on to outline rules governing the trip in an aggressive manner. It’s only after some confrontational situations with him and other passengers that the situation improved.

Our driver/ tour guides had minimal English, but played a short tape, explaining sights we would be seeing. Two members of group arrived a half hour late group one break, and the Driver did post have the contact info for anyone. I suggest there needs to be information communicated concerning this problem. We lost time on our tour, plus frustration waiting the half hour.

Surprised what a great tour for price this was. Picked up at the port. Returned to the port. The port is 1 hour outside Rome We were driven all around Rome in small passenger van a total of 7. We hit Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Coliseum , Navona Square, The Pantheon, Venezia Square, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. We were dropped at each spot very close to the attraction and given time to wander. Note for Coliseum you only walk around it you do not get to go in. You need separate ticket. Lines were long and inside was minimum of 90 minutes. The Pantheon also needs a ticket to go in 5 euros. It was raining, a holiday and line was long. Tour was 8 hours. We even got great pizza. Driver Fabrizio knew how to navigate Rome. Please note he is driver not a tour guide. They play a pre recoded narrative to tell you about where you are going.. Was very pleased to see so many highlights of Rome
