The Cathedral has been the beating heart of Seville since its creation as a mosque in 1198. After Seville fell under Christian rule, the decision was made to create a Cathedral in the place of the mosque that would show off seville’s prosperous wealth. Legend has it that the original design committee wanted the outside world to think they were “mad” for attempting this daunting project.
Built in 1507 the Cathedral remains the largest Gothic style Cathedral in the world! Today the famous Giralda bell tower, which lower portion remains from the original 1198 mosque, rises powerfully about the city skyline.

We enjoyed our tour guide Laura. She was fun, informative and ready to answer questions. She was also helpful letting us know about other sites to see in the city and her advice was excellent. The tour company was confused with our reservation, but they figured it out.
I had reserved a small group, but it was 34 people. I think that is too many for a small group.

The office where we went to meet the tour guide was chaotic- staff did not have a good level of English and mixed up the bookings. . We were placed in the wrong tour group. However our tour guide Ishmael was excellent. A really good way of making history and information come alive . A really good way of adding context to what we saw and such a depth of knowledge. If going on the tour - try and get him as the tour guide.

The tour guide was far too fast in her delivery.This delivery was in a very strong Spanish accent & was hard to hear .She also dwelt too much on various miscellaneous subjects which were of minor importance

Great guide. The wait at the office could be better not to annoy locals walking by. Tour very good and guide very knowledgeable

Great tour with a knowledgeable tour guide unfortunately it is very crowded with numerous tours and general admission ticket personal but overall a worthwhile activity to do.

Great experience. Our guide Laura was very informative and made the experience interesting.
Definately book in advance if you wish to visit the cathedral, we were glad we did as was fully booked.
Meeting point just a short walk from the cathedral and skip the queue as a group to enter.

This was a great tour. The guide, Johanna, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to fill us in on all aspects of the cathedral. It was well worth the money.

Our guide, Abraham, was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and easy to follow and understand. The tour office, however, appears disorganized.
