Among the “high” routes of the Amalfi coast, this hike moves from Nocelle to “Colle Serra” and is by far the most famous hike you can do. The reason for this fame is the constant ups and downs, the fantastic sheer vertical drops and lands cultivated in terraces. From the spectacular belvedere looking to the west we see siren archipelagos and swirling shapes. There is much to explain here regarding the colours of the Mediterranean lands, known as our “Path of the Gods”.Botany: mediterranean scrub, heather, euphorbia, true myrtle, orchids in spring. Fauna: birds of prey (kestrel, peregrine falcon, buzzard, raven, sea gull,..) migratory and sedentary birds and insects, butterflies , reptiles( lizards , harmless snakes ) small mammals.Natural landscape interests: view on the whole peninsola, view on Capri and Amalfi coast. The tour totally is 7 hours (included the transportation time).

Fabulous hike but make sure the road to Bomerano is open or you have to hike UP to catch v the trail- strenuous. But once on the trail it is gorgeous. Stairs down difficult after walking several miles.

Breathtaking views of the Amalfi coast during this hike up in the mountains. The Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) starts at a height of about 600 meters in the little village of Agerola. As you don’t start at sealevel it doesn’t require too much climbing, even though the path does go up and down a bit. Every corner you turn there is another awesome view. Even though the path is not too tough it is advisable to wear good walking gear. A visit to the Amalfi coast is not complete without doing this hike.

We did this walk in June 2019. All reviews said it was an easy walk. It was far from it. It was a trek for the experienced hiker. It is also very dangerous with very little path to walk on in parts and a very sheer drop over the edge that there is no coming back from. There was a lot of climbing over rocks and the path is very dusty and slippery. The views are excellent but you can see them from the road on the bus trip up anyway. It was hot, it was badly sign posted of the track and where to go and there is little water along the way. We also learned after we had finished the trek that a young girl had fallen to her death in August 2018 on the same walk. It was not enjoyable but certainly an experience that we will speak about for year to come.
