On the bridge that welcomes you to the tower, you will begin this special journey. You will discover a very special gift that the governor of Portuguese India gave to the Portuguese King Manuel I, and that gave birth to the legend of Ganda. Its narrator is none other than the patron saint of Lisbon and the man who prompted the construction of this building, Saint Vicent. As you discover the interior of the tower on the first floor, your narrator will teach you about the military role the tower has played in local history. You will explore the different floors as the narrator tells you the history of the monument and his own tragic story as a martyr in Roman times. The emotional narration ends and your tour ends while you admire the fantastic view from the top of the building.

Information was not clear enough. The title was designed to confuse people who will make you pay for everything without the actual tower entry tickets. The title showed when making the review is not the same as the title provided in the website for purchasing purposes.

Even after you purchase your tickets there was , at least, an hour long wait time in line to enter. Plus the ticket office, on site, apparently closes for 1.5-2 hours each day around noon.
Very interesting looking from the outside, but after asking several other tourists who had been inside, and the ticket office employee (who was very patient and informative), we decided to not wait 1-2 hours standing in line to get in the austere Belem tower. Several people said that the monastery down the street (walking distance) was a stupendous example of Manuelleta architecture, and definitely worth the wait in line. And the famous original Belem pastry shop is close to the monastery.

This review is for Viator and not the Tower of Belem.
Viator sold me a ticket to a day when the tower was closed. I tried contacting the tour operator but they never replied. Needless to say I submitted a dispute through my credit card.
