Contrary to the name "Secret Falls" Uluwehi Falls has become the most popular waterfall destinations on Kauai. The paddle and hike will take some physical effort but we make everything else easy. We will provide the best hassle-free service on the river, No having to car top a bulky rental kayak and hunt for parking at the State Park. All you have to do is show up at our exclusive location and it's fun time! Our guides will setup all your equipment and will stay with you every step of the way. Adventure seekers should be comfortable in the water and should expect a 4-mile round trip paddle and a moderate 2-mile hike to the waterfall.

Kayaking up that river was without a doubt, a beautiful sight. Much needed after all the BS dealt with back home; I'm in management & a full-time student.

This is how it went... Kai & his outsiders warm welcomed, checked us in made sure we knew how to secure our own items while also introducing us to our guides, Lono, Kala, & I believe Sam, we then paddled up river, which I enjoyed every second of. The waterfall would have been perfect if it weren't such a popular attraction. The way back down was still an enjoyably sight of healthy bright colored Life. I had a GREAT time. 10/10 recomend this Al'i Kayaks guide team.

My husband and I didn't know how to kayak. We struggled a lot and we ended up being tied to the guide's kayak and being towed up the river until we got out to start hiking. The hike was challenging for us since we are not experienced hikers. The trail was super muddy and slippery, crossing knee deep current from the river, and climbing around rocks.
The waterfall was beautiful. Then it was time to do everything in reverse....long hike and this time we paddled our kayak. The guide, Sam was really nice and we appreciate his help and his humor :-). After this experience, I don't think my husband and I will sign up for an activity like this again.

We had Nui as our guide. He was an awesome guide, with a funny energy and spirit. He was incredibly informative about the land and culture. He ensured we stayed safe and respectful of sacred areas while also getting to observe and learn- and experience an incredible waterfall. Nui- you are awesome, 10/10 would recommend! We took the 10 am trip. This is a busy area and seemed busier as we were returning home. Even with lots of people, there was plenty of room at the falls for swimming and/or snacking. This outfitter does not provide food, we just brought some snacks and then went out to a restaurant recommended by Nui afterwards. Great day!

Our tour guid was Sam and he was amazing! The hike was a little rainy and muddy but Sam made sure everyone was safe made it through the jungle journey. Sam especially loves to tow kayaker's up river who can't seem to keep up with the group said he enjoys the extra work out. Sam took time to educate us on local foliage and history of the area . Good joke and a great time . Thanks for the awesome tour up the River through the jungle to the falls. Can't wait to do it again.

We had Lono as our guide who made it an super fun experience. Unfortunately it rained all day which made the hike a bit muddy and slippery but he got us all through it with his jokes and humor.

The kayaking and waterfall are definitely worth visiting and I would definitely recommend with a guide because they can tell so much more about the plants and culture.

This is my wife’s account and she has given me permission to write this review. Before the trip even started, as we were loading on the bus, Kai, the site-manager asked if anyone was pregnant. A portly fellow joked that he was and Kai responded by saying that “Well, anyone can be pregnant now. When I was young I wanted to grow up to be a Power Ranger. I’m not. I mean, I can pretend all I want but I’m not.” He was implying that transgendered people are just pretending to be a different gender and, as the dad of a transgendered kid, I was surprised and offended. Later, on the hike, a transgendered woman passed us and Sam, the tour guide, made a face as if to suggest he was looking at something shocking and appalling and said, “Is that a trans?” in a mocking and demeaning tone of voice. Again, I was hurt and offended by his cruel mockery of a transgendered person. After the tour, I spoke with both of them to let them know how their remarks hurt my feeling and spoiled my trip. The site-manager apologized but glibly and insincerely and went on to explain that they make fun of everyone in order to “take away the power of the offense”. I asked if they make fun of black people and Jews and he said, “no.” So they don’t make fun of everyone, just trans people. Then he explained that he has trans relatives, he was in the military, Hawai’i is like this, and it’s also because of his religious beliefs. (Of course, if it’s because of his religious beliefs, then it’s not just a joke intended to “take away the power of the offense”. ) Sam, the tour guide was just as bad. He claimed that on the trip he looked at that person and said “what is that?” (That isn’t what he said but I let it go.) I asked if it wasn’t offensive to look at a person and say, “What is that?” He avoided the question two times and when I asked him a third time he said, “It’s not offensive to me.” Then he suggested that it was all my fault because after the first offense I “should have said something” As they said at the end of the tour, “there are lots of kayaking tour companies to choose from.” My advice is to choose one of the others.
