An outstanding experience with pilot Antony Sproull, who very gracefully let me fly in the co-pilot seat and answered a barrage of questions about the aircraft, the flight, and VFR. The weather was good, so we were able to take a slightly longer route. After a long bus ride from Queenstown to Milford Sound, the experience of a short flight back with a dramatic take-off and landing plays with your sense of scale of the geography. A once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone without a pilot's license.

One of the best things we did in New Zealand. Totally amazing flight after finishing the Milford Sound hiking trip with Ultimate Hikes. The pilot flew along the route we hike, over water falls we were at the base of and a pass where we had much. Incredible!!!

Captain Emma Penny was a marvelous pilot. Her handling of the aircraft was as spectacular as the view. I was able to sit in the copilot position, and so had a wonderful view. The views of the lake, the mountains, and the glaciers were wonderful. And the bonus was that the flight got us back to Queenstown 2 and a 1/2 hours before the rest of our tour group. I highly recommend it as a once in a lifetime opportunity. I tried to Dave. JPG photos, but for some reason, TripAdvisor came up with the error message that they were an invalid file format. Sorry I couldn't share them with you as the were spectacular.

Antony was an amazing pilot and the flight was as memorable as it was short! Compare the 4 hour drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound to the 35 minute flying time … if the weather permits I highly recommend this! The views are unparalleled and the plane is super comfortable.

Anthony is a true professional. The half hour flight from Milford Sound to Queenstown will be remembered forever. The scenery was amazing, but Anthony's personality and sense of humor made it truly remarkable.

It is a spectacular part of the world and viewing it from a scenic flight was well worth it. The pilot, Antony was great - told us what we were looking at and was friendly. We got to have a look at quite a few points of interest on the way back. I was also the lucky one who got to sit up the front for the flight. As I am the sort of person who loves avaiation and likes watching stuff like cross wind landings on youtube it was a real treat. I should add that takeoff and landing were very smooth on this filght. :-)

i absolutely love small planes. this was arranged when i realized the Milford sound trip could be returned by air. it was a rare picture perfect day and the mountains were the high light of the day. the pilot took care to point out the sights and turned the plane so everyone could see. they are a lovely crew and return you to your accommodation via Queenstown taxi. a word about the taxis even at a taxi stand get one that has a company name they are required to turn on the meter. another word about uber they are a disappointment in Queenstown.

Make sure you know exactly what you will see on this "scenic" flight before you take it .
We took it because the tour bus driver recommended it so highly .
Not just a time saver , but an experience of a lifetime including glaciers , waterfalls & the incredible vista of the Milford walking track .
Just prior to take off the pilot , Carl , said that we would be looking at the approach to the Homer Tunnel . I asked about seeing waterfalls . He replied that we could look at the Sutherland Falls , but said that the tunnel was better scenery . Have you looked at a picture of a magnificent 580 m waterfall pouring down a mountainside compared to a road disappearing into a rock face ?
Hell , he has 30 years experience , so he must know what he's talking about , so we looked at the Homer Tunnel .
The pilot said to us as we passed over it that the Sutherland Falls was quite a bit further down .
BINGO ! More time & fuel . No wonder we looked at a road . We did not see a glacier , a waterfall , or the Milford Track .
$1350 to take the polish off a wonderful day .

I have a huge fear of planes and flying but absolutely loved the flight on this trip. I was very nervous but our pilot Antony was extremely professional and so nice, making the trip feel very safe. The take off and landing was smooth and overall I would highly recommend Air Milford to anyone.
