This version of Saona, with a sailing boat catamaran, is offered to people wishing to enjoy a tour with a very small group (max 24 people), accompanied by the Quetzal crew!
We board the catamaran sailing boat around 9am and then go at the snorkeling place of Catuano, where, with your guide, you will discover a lot of tropical fishes!
The snorkeling session is accompanied by our guide Quetzal, certified diving instructor!
Your guide will be there to show you the different species of fish but also to ensure your safety
After snorkeling we will enjoy one of the most gorgeous, turquoise-water, white-sand beach of Dominican Republic for around 1 hour and a half.
Relaxation, walk on the beach, swimming or take a drink… we will adapt to your rhythm
Around 1:30 p.m., we will board the catamaran for lunch.
While you have lunch on board we will head to the natural pool
Natural swimming pool of Las Palmillas, is a magical secluded place with the clearest of waters where you can see starfishes.

Wonderful day visiting Saona Island on this beautiful catamaran: staff very friendly and professional, plenty of food and drinks, space to relax and enjoy the beautiful view! It's a bit more expensive compared to other tours but we were looking for something to relax in a small group and this was the best choice.
We were planning to go on another excursion to Catalina 2 days later but the weather wasn't great, in any case I would definetely reccomend them!

We had the chance to meet Bernard and his magnificent catamaran during our last stay in 2017 on Bayahibe, where we left for Catalina! The images and memories remain engraved forever…
For this new trip to Bayahibe, it was inconceivable for us to deprive ourselves of this UNFORGETTABLE experience!
7 years later, everything is still “PERFECTO”… and even better!!!!
On board, the morning snack is perfect after the snorkelling session; the lunch buffet concocted by the crew while we enjoy the idyllic SAONA beach is “just” delicious!!! But let’s not forget the Dominican rum baba and the Ti Punch, undoubtedly the best in Bayahibe!!!

We had a great trip! It was a girl’s trip with 7 of us. The crew was very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw tons of fish, sting rays, trumpet fish, star fish, etc. while snorkeling. The beach on the island was beautiful. The vendors had some nice jewelry we bought so bring some cash. Perfect Caribbean water and very relaxing sail ride with good drinks, great food and conversation. This trip was not crowded like the other boats we saw. I highly recommend this trip.

The whole experience from booking to transfer to excursion were top notch. Although we didn’t have the best of weather the crew made sure we were able to still experience the magnificence of Saona island and natural pools. Lola was an amazing guide and was so personable and sweet. It’s a must do if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere but with adventure.

The carride from Punta Cana is close to 2 hours or more depending on who else is being picked up with you. That was only downside to the excursion.

Wow, what an amazing day!! Captain Bernard, Joy, Pineapple and crew provided an excellent experience to Saona Island! We snorkelled upon arrival at Saona Island, beautiful fish, eating right out of your hand. Lunch onboard, no sand in my food, then transfer to Saona Island where a donkey cart awaited to ferry our belongings to the other side of the island. Gorgeous beach, warm water, not too rough so great for kids. Back on board we sailed to the natural swimming pool where we saw starfish, also the film location for Survivor-Turkey. We were a small group, only 10, which made our day that more special as the crew had time to spend with us! It was also my husbands 60th birthday that day and everyone sang happy Birthday to him and another young passenger. This excursion was the only excursion we took on our holiday, if you are looking for a top quality, unique and personal experience, Quetzal Cata Excursion is a must! Thanks again to the crew and other guests for a great day!!

Twelve of us did the boat excursion for a bachelor party. Joy and her crew were absolutely amazing. All three stops snorkeling, saona island, and the natural pools were great. The food and drinks were excellent as well. Everyone in the bachelor party said that this was their favorite activity.

We had a wonderful time with Joy and her team on the boat. We went to the beautiful Saona island and surroundings. We had a lovely lunch on board and even made a little party besides the rainy day. I highly recommend this day trip, and we are thankful for such a wonderful experience. The fact that this trip is for a smaller group makes all the difference with the other companies that might have crowded boats. Lastly we went snorkelling and it was so beautiful and thank you to Joy that gave as all the precautions on the water and guide us around the area!
