Departure Point: Cusco - We pick you up from your hotel.
Departure Time: Between 4:00am - 05:00am
Briefing Point: Our guide will visit your hotel 2 or 1 day before the trek between 6:00 to 6:30pm
Return Point: Cusco - Our driver will drop-off in your hotel or Airbnb apartment

I had a great trip and would highly recommend! I went alone and had a great time with the other guests and my guide Jose was super friendly and knowledgeable. I was a bit of a slow hiker and he always waited for me and was so kind!!! It was not physically easy, but it was soooo gratifying reaching the top of the hike everyday!! Definitely one of the best vacations I’ve ever had!

Our Salkantay trek was absolutely amazing! Jose our guide was great, he was patient and responsible. Our chef was also great, the food exceeded all expectations, I never dreamed of having such tasty food so deep in the Andes. The accommodations were amazing with the best views!

First and foremost, Jose was an amazing guide. He was patient, ensured we were safe at all times, kept us well informed about what was happening, and checked in regularly to see how we were feeling. He was also excellent at explaining the historical significance of certain sites.
As for the hike itself, the views and scenery was breathtaking. Please be prepared for rain and bugs if you do it in April because the weather can be very unpredictable. Regarding the structure of the tour, I was not a fan of how much free time there was on most days. For many of the days we would arrive at the campsite and there would be no activities scheduled from like 3 pm onwards. To be clear, this is not Jose's fault, but w criticism of the tour structure.
I would recommend this 5 day your IF you want to complete the hike at the easiest pace possible (which is still hard as day 2 the elevation gain will be very challenging). If you want to complete the hike with less free time, I would pick either the 3 or 4 day structure.
Keep in mind as well, if you are doing this solo, you must share domes with another person unless you specifically request that you want your own dome (and pay a higher price).

Great tour overall - Jose Luis was an excellent tour guide! I booked last minute and they were very accommodating! The meals were very good and the accommodations were great. Be prepared to share with strangers if you are traveling solo, or ask before the trip what the extra costs are to have your room before the trek.

QUECHUA'S customer service has been great, they accommodated us for a last minute trek - booking and contact process has been great. Staying at sky domes was awesome, luxury and incredible views, other 3 nights were pretty basic but no issues (except the hotel at aguas calientes which had a leak, you guys should change that one to another hotel). Food has been awesome on the trek - thanks to brilliant chef Leandro. Our guide was Fernando - he helped us throughout the trip to get to destinations with ease and I enjoyed his explanation about Machu Picchu a lot, he knew a ton of history!

We did the Salkantay trek of 5 days and we can only say that it was really WONDERFUL. I went with my partner, the group was excellent and our guide Fernando and his team were the best. Fernando is super trained and knows a lot of the route and history, he is super professional and was attentive to us at all times and we felt super safe at all times. I recommend Fernando 100% to anyone who loves nature and would like to know the depth of Peru.
The accommodations were great, very comfortable and the food really surprised us, we did not expect everything to be so delicious.

Tremendous experience, totally transforming. Much more than I expected in every way. During the whole tour I had the feeling that the company was looking to give the best possible experience to its clients, always trying to give more than what one expects. The guide was impeccable in his work (Fernando), a mixture of charisma and knowledge about all the topics that one could get to inquire about the walk, from culture, geography, flora, fauna, etc..
