Enjoy a 2-hour walk through Rotterdam, guided by a local architect. Learn about the history of the city, and follow the architecture highlights: the new Rotterdam Central Station, the Lijnbaan midcentury national monument, the Timmerhuis of OMA, the Markthal designed by MVRDV and the iconic Cube Houses.
The tour ends on the riverside with spectacular view on the landmark bridges and the modern high-rise on the South bank.

Rotterdam’s modernist architecture and the history of how it came to be is fascinating. Silvia, our tour guide, was wonderful. Her perspective and knowledge as an architect was great, but her insights as someone who’s lived in and loves Rotterdam also added a personal and human touch. She answered every question, spent a half hour more with us than the set tour time and made for one of the best experiences we had in the Netherlands.

brilliant tour!!! Really nice and very knowable guide. Would definitely go again.
Our only problem was that the meeting point was not clear. the meeting point address was a bit different to the map provided and different to the actual meeting place.

The guide was very knowledgeable but the comments often referred to architects and architectural concepts that I didn't know about.

Silvia was a fantastic tour guide and brought the history of modern architecture in Rotterdam to life. She's very knowledgeable, well-spoken, with a good sense of humor and excellent communication skills. She answered all our questions and made some excellent suggestions and offered many helpful insights. Ours was a small group of six and she went out of her way to address individual interests. Highly recommended and would be happy to take another tour with her in the future.

Terrific overview of the city. We started at the central station and spent a lot of time there. Branched out from there. Only disappointment was that we didn’t cover any of the old area which was right around the corner. Our guide was on time and well organized. We were only a group of five, and that was very enjoyable. And our guy was primarily a Spanish speaker, but had very good English. I will admit it took me a bit of time to understand her sometimes. Unfortunately it was a very cold day. The breeze is icy that comes off of the nearby water. Would highly recommend the cruise on a warmer and sunnier day.

Sylvia was a great guide. We got to see all the architectural highlights of Rotterdam in just a few hours. The tour content included stories on architecture, Rotterdam's history, urban development and more. You really got a sense of hose Rotterdam has transformed since WWII - and indeed how it is still changing. I am more of the architecture buff - but my wife enjoyed the tour as much as I did.

Sylvia was great...had alot of great local info on the rebuilding of the city postwar. Great city and wonderful lore. Great to have a practicing architect explain a transformation from scratch for a city.
