We did the "Rome in a Day" tour the day before our cruise.
Michele was our driver and he was fantastic! He arrived at our hotel ahead of schedule, and revised our stop and tour on the fly based on what we wanted to see and do. He provided great insight throughout the day, and great food recommendations as well.
I'd gladly recommend this tour (and have!) to anyone looking to get a quick taste of what the city has to offer.

We were on a cruise as a high school graduation gift for our granddaughter, bringing along her two parents. None of them had been to Europe before, and we were concerned that the massive crowds of tourists and summer heat would be a big turnoff for them. That's why we took a chance on Stefano's RomeCabs, hoping that someone familiar with the city and with an air-conditioned car and some common sense flexibility with the itinerary would compensate for the challenges. We could not have been happier. Our driver picked us up at the dock at Civitavecchia right on time. He was fluent in English, well informed, and knew exactly what he was doing. (We were on the "Tour Rome as a Roman Local." We immediately went to the highest pressure tourist stops (St. Paul's Cathedral, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps.) then the pace slowed while we visited the other must see sites. It was comfortable in the car. We got to sit back and see Rome from a street side view. We never had far to walk to get to the important area. Our driver had recommendations for lunch and gelato. He was always waiting for us when we were done. and he was a fount of knowledge about history and culture. I can't recommend this highly enough. It was an enjoyable and unforgettable day.

Our driver, Cesar, got us safely to all of the attractions in Rome. He did a fantastic job. If you only have one day in Rome, this is the tour for you!

Our driver Michele picked us up promptly from our ship. We had planned a tour of the Colosseum. On the way Michele took us to several out of the way places that were incredible. He got us to our tour location right on time. After the tour, he took us to a local restaurant away from the tourist area for an outstanding lunch. Then back to the ship. In all a great experience and trip. Michele is an excellent driver, host and fabulous representative of his company and city! We give him our highest rating and recommendation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great excursion to Rome from Civitavecchia while on a cruise. The driver was waiting for us as we got off the ship & was great the whole day. Very friendly & knew a lot about everywhere he took us. We ended with a guided tour of the vatican museum & St Peter's before returning to the ship. It was a very stress-free & fun day

Leonardo was our driver and he was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable about the city and the history, he showed us pictures of what the city used to look like. We asked him to take us to pizza place for lunch and he took us to the best pizza spot outside the tourist area, where the locals eat. It was by far the best pizza we ever had and cheap as well! He was also a very good driver, we didn't have to walk far for anything. I have very high standard and I will book this service again in a heart beat!

We booked the Rome Town and Country tour leaving from Civitavecchia. Our driver, Franco, was awaiting for us as we left the cruise ship and what a wonderful experience we had with him. This tour was everything we could have hoped for and more. A full day of touring wonderful sites in Rome, then off to a lovely out of the way restaurant in Ceri for lunch, and a tour of Bracciano castle later in the afternoon when there were only 6 people there! A better experience could not be had and a better driver I cannot imagine. Kudos to Franco and Stephano's Rome cabs for a day to remember.

Our group of 6 were met at the Cruise Port by Maximus for the Rome in a Day Tour before dropping us at FCO airport.
I have never met such a knowledgeable guide. Not only did he know all about the sights of Rome but knew the best vantage points to see them and also some lesser known but spectacular places.
Maximus got us very close to what were very busy locations with no problems or delays including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc.
If (when!) we visit Rome again I'll be giving them a call and would not hesitate in recommending this company.
We used them for the Airport to Cruise ship transfer at the start of the cruise as well and both times they were excellent value and impeccable service.

I cannot say enough about what a SPECTACULAR experience we had with Rome Cabs ! Don't hesitate for a minute to book especially if coming in from a cruise !!! Our driver Franco deserves 100+ stars ! Our tour was a private one that picked us up at the port in Civitavecchia and took us to Rome. Franco was waiting even before we got off the ship and immediately had us on our way by 7:05AM. He took us to every special spot in Rome there was to see and had us use our time so wisely we can't thank him enough. It never felt rushed at all . We were interested in just getting to see as much as possible with the time we had and having lunch and got so much more ! He also was very knowledgeable in sharing great information with us about the beautiful city and it's history...just the right amount to inform us but not overwhelm us. He was also very funny sharing some personal family stories that we loved ! He even took us to a special spot called "The Keyhole" just slightly into Malta for a few minutes to get a peek in the keyhole ( I will not ruin and say what we saw but it was very cool !). We got to see all the main sites in Rome and though on the particular day we visited the Vatican Museum was closed due to the St. Peter/ Paul holiday and the Pope doing a mass in the morning, Franco timed it perfectly so that we could be at St. Peter's Square when the Pope came out to do the blessing from the window ! He could not have timed it better .... Very unexpected special experience ! ( when we got back on our cruise no one else we spoke to had this opportunity that had taken a cruise ship tour ). Also, keep in mind the cruise ship buses leave people very far from main areas because they cannot drive in close to the special things to see in Rome/Vatican City ! Franco and Rome Cabs have special permits to drive all through the area so we barely walked unless we wanted to. He would take us as close as possible to the areas: Colosseum, Parthenon, Trevi Fountan , Piazza Nuvana and several other great spots not to mention a few amazing view points of the entire area, the ruins from up top..... He would walk us up to them or point the way and even took photos of us and then give us free time to explore without rushing us at all ( we were very conscious of the time too which I know he appreciated and moved us along to see so much ). He even told us about a legend about 2 drinking fountains next to the Trevi Fountain and what it "meant" if we both drank out of it at the same time ( again don't want to spoil legend for anyone, but it was cute and his story was so funny about it). We took a selfie to show him we did it ! After seeing Pope he recommended going to lunch and then returning to St. Peter's Square to enter St Peter's Basilica with less of a crowd ( He was 100% correct). Took us to a great Osteria nearby and we had the most delicious authentic Italian lunch ! The owner attended to us and treated us like GOLD ! Franco even secretly let him know we were on a trip for our 25th Anniversary and at the end of our meal they brought us a tiramisu with candles and champagne followed by a limoncello (complimentary)! After we went back to the square and only had a short wait in line to visit the St. Peter's Basilica that was absolutely breathtaking! Then he even had cold water bottles for us on the way back to ship !! We are so grateful to Franco for planning out our day so perfectly ! We left with amazing photos and beautiful memories of our day in Rome ! Gracie Franco and Rome Cabs you made our day in Rome bellisimo !!!
