We booked and paid for a 2hrs self-drive golf cart experience in Borghese gardens, May 9th 2024.
We taxied to place shown on map, but no-one there. Asked other bike and golf cart rentets where to fine Free Mobility, and they pointed to a place 100 metres away, so waited there 1hr. Asked proprietor of another golf cart business about FM, and was told to ring them. Did, but Italian spoken only. SMS was refused.
I have trouble walking, but set off along shady Avenue to Villa Borghese art gallery to get a taxi.
Along the way, SAT often. At the end of Avenue, another golf cart business rang FM for me. FM then said 3min, a cart would come. 40min later, 6-seater withdriver appeared.
Elderly gentleman, dismissed our conc erns that no-one was at meeting point earlier and we had waited over 2 hours.
He drove us around, with commentary in good English, leaving us at Gallery Borghese where we could get a taxi back.
If you foolishly book with this uncaring, disorganised business then phone them the day before you are getting their golf cart. Make a time to meet - carts are not booked online for certain times.
Beter still, get to park early and get a pedal powered cart for 2-4 people from another company.
Our time was wasted and our concer ns re no golf cart at opening time was dismissed carelessly.

What a great day in Rome with our tour guide! We were only here for two days at the end of a cruise and did not feel as if we had lost out on seeing anything. It was great and I would highly recommend.

Nikolai was our guide and he was quite entertaining. He is also very knowledgeable about the Borghese Family, coupled with funny side jokes. This tour provides sites I've never heard of and is truly unique. The views are spectacular and he takes your health seriously. He will not park somewhere under the sun. Since August is experiencing record high temperatures.
