We enjoyed our tour guide! He shared many interesting details! We saw ancient Christian churches! We could look down into the floor of the Colleseum to see where the animals were kept.

Booked this tour for myself (F50) and my mother (F72).
Pro’s - friendly and knowledgeable guide (male) funny and very passionate, clearly knew his history! He made sure he found shady areas to stop as it was extremely hot. Answered everyone’s questions
Cons - spent a lot of time standing around in the heat whilst the guide talked, could have done with moving along a bit more as we could hear him talking through the ear piece so we felt we didn’t see many areas inside the Coliseum.
He did not let us know there was a lift in the Coliseum and my mother really struggled with all the steps in the heat, we only noticed the lift on the way down. She became very dizzy and light headed which could have been avoided. Please let people who may need the lift the option, and yes we drank tons of water!
Lots of standing around for prolonged periods again in the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill. The guide was excellent for giving us information but again my mother struggled with the standing around in the heat and wanted to keep walking, or find somewhere to sit and rest for 5 minutes. Toward the end we had to leave the group, we needed a toilet break and the group went on ahead so we missed the end. As an FYI my mother is extremely fit for her age as we walked over 10 miles that day!
Overall a good tour but needs a few tweaks along the way, we would visit the Coliseum again but do it ourselves next time to explore the whole place as we wanted to go down into the lower area/tunnels and higher up as we only went up to the viewing point level.

Wonderful experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and tried to stop in the shade as it was brutally hot outside. The tour moved pretty quick but overall it was a good balance of information, time for photos, and breaks.

We had Marianna as a tour guide this morning and had a wonderful time! She made sure no one got left behind and was extremely engaging. She was very friendly and happily answered everyone’s questions, made sure we all got great views, and even played photographer to take pictures of some of the group. She made the whole tour very interesting and kept a great pace. Her passion for the city and its history was clear. We would love to have her again for any tours!

The tour guide was very informative and added some humor along the way too. I only wish we walked around more while he was talking. Definitely give yourself time to walk around after the official tour is over.
