The tour was very interesting and the guide knowledgeable, however you can’t help but feel like your being jostled quickly along, boats are arriving and leaving like conveyer belts and groups are too large to hear and see everything, the buses were ancient and not air conditioned and we were standing the whole time but my biggest complaint with this company was that I booked for the minimum 2 persons tour online but was travelling solo and although I asked for a part refund long before the tour the company replied to my request the day before and declined the refund on the grounds it was past the deadline date. ? this is deceit.

It was amazing that the tour guide was 1 of the prisoners during the apartheid era. It was 1st hand experience rather than hear say. And the narration brings the emotions out of you. You feel like you were there also. Great trip.

Only painful part was the ferry ride to the island. The sea sickness got the better of my wife.

The tour guide was difficult to understand the group was to big, when the group moved to the next section the guide started and in most instances he had finished the talk before the remainder of the group had cought up!! Very interesting place but it was not for Nelson Mandela being there it’s not worth going.

Touring Robben Island was a highlight of our trip to Cape Town. Sipho (Themba) Msomi, our tour guide and former political prisoner on Robben Island, was a compelling and breathtaking hand holder through one of the most notorious and brutal prisons in the world. His candor and passion as he spoke brought life and pain and strength and conviction to the walls and bars of the penitentiary built to oppress and silence generations South Africa’s boldest and brightest.

This tour is a must. The ferry ride was pleasant and picturesque. You tour the island by bus. There are plenty of opportunities to take pictures from the bus. The bus also stops so you can get some pics by the water as well as a bathroom break and a cool drink. There is plenty to see and learn.

Driver was friendly and we had a great chat on the way back. The bus and prison tour was extremely interesting with alot of facts about the island and the prison. The prison tour was a bit rushed but I still enjoyed hearing their stories and experiences in the prison.

All the tour guides were so knowledgeable. One of the tour guides was actually a prisoner of Robben Island in the 80s and shared his personal experience. Amazing experience would recommend to anyone
