We did this hike to the waterfall with our 5 year old and hired a private guide. Byron was awesome and showed us a few eyelash vipers and informed us of other things during the hike. Highly recommend seeing the waterfall it is so beautiful

Excellent guided tour and well worth it! We originally signed up as we were arriving midday at the park and wanted to get access via guide given the limited daily tickets. Hike would be beautiful if you choose to go alone but our guide spotted so many plants, animals and reptiles we would have missed and explained an incredible number of dynamics we did not know about. Highly recommend!

Came here during a trip with my wife. Our guide was Oscar was our guide and had a good amount of gems about the park and environment. He was a good guy and his love for his job and this place was contagious. He did great. It was a good hike and had beautiful sights. I saw a review before booking this that suggested not paying for a tour and instead just walking through the park yourself. Being from the U.S. and unfamiliar w/ the area, language etc, I felt more comfortable booking the tour. That said, it was like any other state/Nat'l park I've been. Oscar was great but having been through it now, I feel like we def could've saved the $140 and just hiked it ourselves. There were some tidbits I'm sure we would've missed but there's also a lot of stuff we could have Googled tbh. All in all, if you like having a guide, it's probably worth it but I guess I just wasn't blown away considering the price

Would not recommend. You can do this without a guide-the guide was not very into it and we don't think we saw anymore with him than we would've alone. Also, the swimming pool part is completely false. When I asked the guide about it he stated he would drive in front of us as far as was convenient for him and then point us in the right direction. We arrived to the place he stated and it was essentially on someone else's property and they came out of there house to let us in. It was sketchy. Also, it was deserted and we couldn't even swim because it was so rocky and we weren't sure if it was even safe to do so. Overall, disappointed and don't recommend.

The powerful falls were quite majestic. The trail is an easy task, perfect for those not so athletic. I liked our guide, she was very knowledgeable.

We would’ve preferred transport to the place. But overall it was beautiful. An excellent guide Oscar was very helpful and knowledgeable.

We had an awesome time with Anthony, trekking to Rio Celeste. He was knowledgeable and fun to be with; we learned a lot about the blue water and the national park. After our hike, we were guided to a private section of the river where we swam and basked in the sun. It was great to avoid the crowds swimming close to the park’s entrance. We 100% recommend Anthony as your guide!

My wife and I did the half-day nature tour of Tenoria Volcano National Park with Paulo Ortiz. We absolutely loved hiking with Paulo, who is so knowledgeable of the area, history, animals, etc. Although you can do the hike yourself, I would recommend a professional guide like Paulo. We would have missed so many things. We're also a firm believer that part of the magic of Costa Rica is its people. Paulo is a shining example of that: generous, accommodating, kind, reverent of nature, and fun.
We arranged this tour through the Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel, so we were picked up and dropped back off at the hotel. We also enjoyed a lovely snack afterward of fresh fruit.

Paulo was fantastic. Both the night tour he did for us and the morning at volcano Tenorio national park were great. Paulo’s knowledge of the wildlife and plants was unbelievable. We saw many different animals including a tapir that for up close and personal with us! Everything was done very professionally.
I can’t recommend strongly enough!
