On clear days it's possible to get spectacular views. Rio Celeste is located in one of the most beautifulareas of Costa Rica. Getting there from La FortunaArea takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes. On arriving atthe park we set off on a 7km (approximately 4 miles)hike which passes by the River Celeste Waterfall, Tenorio Look out point, Blue Lagoon, a greatplace for taking pictures,Borbollones (little geisers)and finally we arrive at Teñideros where mother naturemagically mixes the water of two crystal clear streams, changing the water's color to a beautiful bright, light blue (hence the name "Rio Celeste" or Light-Blue River).

After visiting the most beautiful places of this park there is a tough hike back to the park entrance where we have served a delicious, well- deserved lunch.

Our family of 4 took this tour during rainy season. It rained almost the whole time we were there. It was a nice hike, although I was worried about slipping sometimes. The hike does get muddy and there are stairs that are really, really steep. The waterfall is beautiful. How beautiful in color depends upon how much rain and sun there is the day before and the day of the hike. The color we saw was beautiful, but not as bright as other days, we were told. It was a nice activity for the whole family and we did see monkeys, spiders, and snakes.
