Visit the Elves and trolls of Iceland on this entertaining walk through the oldest part of Reykjavik. If you want to experience an exciting and different side of Iceland join us and visit an elfstone in the Reykjavik city center and walk through two of the oldest cemeteries in Reykjavik for a truly haunted walk.
We will tell you about famous Ghosts like the Deacon of Dark River, the unique Icelandic monsters, the 13 Santas or the Icelandic Yulelads / Jólasveinar,
and their mother the child eating troll called Grýla .
You will also get an introduction into Icelandic magic (how to wake the undead).
In the long winter nights in Iceland, storytelling has been our the primary entertainment and around 1 in 10 Icelanders writes a book in his lifetime so it's obvious... we love to tell stories and you sure won't be disappointed by joining our walk and hearing a couple.

I'm sure this could be a great tour with the right guide. Unfortunately, the man who led our tour talked so slowly and with so little inflection, that is was very, very boring. The stories, which could have been interesting told by someone with ANY charisma, were painful told by our guide. He seemed like he was trying to fill up the one and a half hour tour by speaking very slowly. There were several children on the tour and he made no attempt to engage them. He made no attempt to engage anyone for that matter. We just listened to him talk... slowly.... no questions allowed, no eye contact, no skill as a story teller. It was a cold night and we couldn't wait for it to end.

This tour took us to places we would never have seen otherwise, and told the tales we would never have heard. Such beautiful spots in Reykjavik, and only slightly off the beaten path, and easily missed without local knowledge.
Ester EliasDottir is a great storyteller, and funny too! She related a lot of history, her family's own as well as Icelandic history and folklore.
It was a super tour, just the right distance and dropping us off in town.
I think she may perform Indian Classic dance too, but that's unconfirmed... I was sure someone else must have asked so I didn't pose the question. Whatever her other performing skill is, it is certain that she does it well.
Thank you so much for taking us for a fine walk, and imparting many, many interesting tales, stories, histories and much folklore. It was a real privilege and we had a great time of listening and being encouraged to ask questions.

Stefan was an amazing tour guide. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the tour contents and had a great sense of humor. This was absolutely one of the highlights of our time in Reykjavik.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, talented, and funny. The walk was up and down several hills and the weather was ever changing, rain, snow, and wind. Overall, despite the weather it was a great tour.

My husband and I had a terrific time learning about Icelandic folklore with Stefan. He brought many stories to life by embellishing with voices of elves and trolls. Excellent storyteller.

Our guide Stefan was brilliant, entertaining, interesting and full of character. The was great with lots of unusual fact you would not normally hear about well worth the price.
