The reindeer and the Sami have been living and working on this land for centuries and they have only recently invited guests to be part of their daily life. You will visit their camp and have a chance to feed the herd of around 300 wild reindeer who will swarm all around and some will even eat from your hands. You will then be invited for hot drinks around the fire inside a warm candlelit gamme (Traditional Sami Hut) where lunch, bidos, cooked over the open fire will be served (a traditional Sami stew which is often served at Sami weddings and other special occasions).

After lunch you will be invited into a lavvu (Sami tent) and gather around the fire to listen to stories about Sami culture and how it is to be a reindeer herder. The Sami guide will also perform a joik (traditional Sami song) for the guests.

It was amazing seeing the raindeer, definitely worth taking the tour! We first fed the raindeer, then ate a raindeer stew and listened to some Sami people stories.

We had an amazing time meeting and feeding the reindeer. We were lucky enough for a large amount of them to come down to the feeding area even though the snow storm was quite heavy. Learning about Sami culture after the feeding was also amazing, so interesting and our guide Daniel was so lovely and funny! Such a great experience, highly recommend

Such a wonderful few hour's. Highly recommend this trip. Feeding the Reindeer was amazing, as was our Sami host (I’m so sorry but l don’t remember your name; l do remember that you speak Northern Sami and are 21 years old). She was very knowledgeable and informative. Highlight of the trip was her talk and joik. The reindeer stew, Bidos and chocolate cake were also both excellent. My only reason for dropping one star was that the check in with the tour operator was confusing, unclear and disorganised which resulted in departing late, the lack of direction from them at the venue, meant that we ended up in the wrong tent along with many other guests.

such a beautiful experience! even though it was a big group of people in a big bus, it always felt personal and very chilled. the staff and the Sami people were super friendly and always up for a chat. we could ask all out questions and had really nice conversations with them. we spent quite some time feeding the reindeers and were able to walk around the land as far as we wanted. The traditional reindeer stew for lunch was delicious and the hot chocolate as well. the story telling from the Sami man was so sweet and funny. overall a very beautiful, fun and happy experience. was absolutely worth the money and i would totally recommend it to anyone visiting Tromsø during this time of the year.

Reviews are accurate in their description of the days events.

Clean bus picks you up on time. Very organized with pleasant staff. Feed the reindeer, take a ride in a reindeer sled with a warm reindeer "blanket", hot chocolate and cookies in a tent with fire anytime you like, Reindeer stew for lunch and a talk from one of the Sami who gave a talk about their culture and would answer any question you have. We had great weather and I can imagine how a different scenario could affect the day. Also website show they were fully booked for our only availability but after I sent an email they accommodated us! Highly recommended.

A magical sight to see so many reindeer clustered together. A truly unique and absolutely ahh-mazing experience to be in such close contact with the reindeer and to be able to feed them. They are so adorable and cute! Some would even try and get your attention by touching you with their hoof so that you would turn around and feed them. The two lovely Sami ladies were fabulous and they enlightened us with some facts about the Sami culture. Although the sleigh ride had to be canceled due to icy conditions, we had a wonderful time altogether!

It’s not bad, but nothing special either. We think it’s better to explore yourself than to go on these kind of tours.

There is a large terrain with the reindeer where you can walk and feed them from the bucket. The problem with our tour was that at that time the terrain was like a lake of melted snow with reindeer poop floating everywhere.
Our shoes soaked and we spent two more hours in the tent, having a meal and listening the story of a Sami lady.
We were cold despite the fire and my son got a fever after this trip.
We were also smelling like smoke after sitting all this time inside the tent with a fire.
The meal did not taste us.
The best part of this trip for me were the stories told by the Sami lady.
Of course reindeers are interesting as well, but they don’t like cuddles, and they are quite insistent when it comes to food;)
But overall it was a good experience ;)
