Firstly, I would like to say Kees, our Tour guide was most helpful and informative.
The start of the Tour was great. We met in a beautiful Cheese & Wine shop “Gastrovino” and were invited to sit whilst we sampled some delicious cheeses and port. The cheese samples were so good we revisited this store later in our holiday.
Next we were told to hurry as our next stop was closing. We reached a street stall which was indeed closing but allowed us to sample their Herring, onion and pickles, and Kibling fish, both delicious, eaten standing on the street.
We were then taken to another shop selling Stroopwaffles and were left standing on the street again whilst Kees went inside to collect our order. We were all a little thirsty and there was no where to sit.
Next we were told we were going to sample fried snacks. We were again left standing on the street and Kees produced some fries to share with mayo & peanut butter (good) and Bitter Ballen (unpleasant).
We were then taken to an old, dusty and very dirty liquor stall to sample something we all left! Most unpleasant. There were 2 seats in the liquor stall and Kees took one. We were all quite fed up by this point.
The final stop was a pub serving Dutch pancakes and we were offered a drink of our choice.
At this point, our party was still hungry and not at all impressed.
We explained to Kees we have been on many food tours and, whilst we appreciate he was taking us to sample local foods, the tour could have included visits to venues where we were seated, welcomed and offered drinks.
The food tour did not fill us up, we were only given “bites” to sample.
We all left, made our way back to our hotel via an Italian Restaurant for a proper meal!
In my opinion this was extremely overpriced for what we received and I wouldn’t recommend this tour.

The food was ok but the tour guide was not great at all. She didn’t give a lot of information and when she was talking, she would only talk to 1 person at a time in the group so you couldn’t hear any interesting facts. Not the greatest experience and wouldn’t recommend

A really great tour and Aarre was a great guide. Knew the area and food stops really well and managed to tailor tour for us as we are quite fussy eaters not liking spicy food. Recommend peanut sauce for the fries stop. Was very impressed at the last stop where the owner even cooked a special batch of small pancake desserts especially for us. Thanks Aarre!!

We enjoyed our food tour with Kiley. We had the opportunity to try all of the Dutch things Herring to Stroopwaffel. Kiley was very flexible for those participants who didn't drink alchol to offer them something different.

All of the different shops we visited and sampled local foods were great. We had the opportunity to try Port and cheeses, local foods and fish, dessert all of which were very good. Our guide Joeri was lively and had lots of information to share with everyone. Overall, we really enjoyed the excursion. My only suggestion would be less distance for walking to place to place. Our i watches showed 4.2 miles and i think the same could be accomplished with less distance. I do recommend the excursion if you can do the walking.

A good way to get a tour of the city and try the local food. Loved the cheese at the beginning and the brown house was wonderful. Our tour guide was fun and interesting - I am sure I will spell his name wrong Jurie
