Rainbow mountain exceeded my expectations. The view was spectacular and although you had nothing to do with it the weather was perfect. Our guide was informative and polite the whole trip

Was it a very early morning? Yes. Was it a long ride in the van? Yes. Was it completely worth it? Yes! Our family had so much fun riding the 4x4s up to Rainbow Mountain. Arturo and his crew could not have been more helpful teaching us how to ride and then checking on us while we were on the mountain. We rode the motorcycles up and walked down - what a blast!! It was a great day from start to finish!

One of the places you must visit before you die! Truly magnificent and breathtaking…no kidding! The mountain is 5200m above sea level.
If you’re looking for a guide who assures your safety and happiness then look no further than Arturo!
He demonstrated proper use of the ATV and guided us to the villager area where you can walk up the mountains or opt for a horse ($90s) or motorcycle ($70s) round trip ride to complete the journey.
Someone in the group started feeling ill and the had O2 and other proven methods to get her feeling better!
Arturo is informative and extremely helpful.
Breakfast and lunch provided. He takes excellent photos too.
Ask for Arturo!!

Wonderful experience with Arturo and his team. Everything was easy going and well executed from start to finish.
One thing to note is that extras are not included in the tour price (motorcycle ride up the mountain 70 soles roundtrip, entrance fee 25 soles)
I don't mind these as we were taken care properly by the team and a basic breakfast and lunch (mostly vegetable choices) with the pickup was included.
Safety was paramount. Happy to do this again!

The most memorable was seeing the rainbow mountain on a lovely day the journey out was long and the road memorable
I thought that we would go all the way to the top by our atv but only went as far as the vans went then had to either walk or go on motorbike driven by young local boys
Also the smell of petrol from the back of van wasn’t pleasant
Our guide was very good

The views on the way to Rainbow Mountain were one in a million and to experience it on a Quad bike is so much better than getting transported in a van.

We had a fantastic day. Rainbow mountain was amazing. This tour was great, comfortable transport, the guides were very helpful and the people on this tour with us were great. I would recommend this tour to anyone who asks me.

I wanted to write my review to give people a different version of this tour we experienced. The night before we read the review of an unhappy traveller that kinda frightened us and made us question our choice of tour. However our experience was very different in many ways and I think the other traveller had set her expectation around something other than the tour she chose. This is an ATV tour. ATV’s are back country transport and not for everyone. You are riding open air on a dirt road on a mountain. Wear gloves. We bought a pair in Cusco the night before and it was perfect. We found the tour exactly as advertised and really enjoyed it.
The ATV’s were in good condition we recieved training on how to operate them test drove them and had two guides one at the front and one at the back of the pack of drivers. You acend the switchback roads, the same ones as those used by the small tour buses. The roads are small and i would not have enjoyed being in a bus trying to navigate the curves and cliff sides. Getting to rainbow mountain is not for the faint at heart or for people with issues of sick sickness, fear of heights on skinny unguarded roadways. All that said we were both and survived. Use the motorcycle option to get quickly to the top. The horse is also an option but they do not go all the way to the too. DO NOT BOOK RAINBOW MOUNTAIN UNTIL YOU HAVE ACLIMATIZED SEVERAL DAYS. Here you are 17,000 feet above sea level. Moving just to tie your shoe is hard. The guide are very attentive to your needs. One of my fellow travellers needed special attention and they stayed close by to assure his safety. This place is hard on you and you may question if you can even move to the peak look out because of how you feel there. No joke. My friend a very healthy 35 year old how would have loved to just could not and stayed at the lower look out. DO NOT THINK YOU WILL HIKE UP FROM BASE UNLESS YOU ARE WELL ACLIMATIZED! It was well worth it. Food stops were surprisingly good. Great Peru dishes and fruits. Lots of selections. We were home at 5 pm if that helps with your planning. You can sleep a little I saw you could not. Maybe bring a neck pillow which you can leave with anything else in the van/bus.

The views were amazing! And going up on ATV really let you appreciate the views. Only downside is crammed van for long trip. Still glad we did it though.

The quad ride was amazing, the views were incredible!! Photos don’t even do it justice. The food provide was good but the restaurant serving breakfast in the morning doesn’t appear to have heat (wear warm layers). Ronald our guide was helpful and patient. Translating in both Spanish and English. The only surprise was the hike to rainbow was way more challenging than expected. Think at least 45mins to hike. Overall, highly recommend, the quad ride alone was worth it!
