In this tour full of colors and Mexican identity, get to know the unique architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the picturesque landscapes of downtown Coyoacán, discover the Xochimilco canals.
The tour will begin through the quiet channels of Xochimilco in a colorful boat called a Trajinera. Listen to the romantic singing of the mariachis that floats in the air, while you navigate through beautiful floating gardens and then visit the neighborhood of Coyoacán, a favorite of some of the most famous painters, artists and writers in Mexico. Stroll through its cobbled streets lined with old trees and enjoy the pro-colonial atmosphere of this old neighborhood.
La Casa Azul, the former residence of the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.
An important stop on the tour is the Central University campus, which houses the Estadio Olímpico Universitario and the Central Library decorated with murals painted by a large number of Mexican artists.

Excellent day out with our dapper and knowledgeable guide Sergio and driver Antonio picking us up from our hotel. Off to Xochimilco canals for a great laugh, the place teaming with vibrant colours and mad Mariachi bands in boats touting for tourists and worth every peso for the bonkers entertainment. Then whistled off to both Diego Rivera museum with awesome collection and architecture and Frida Kahlo Casa Azul with all its historic importance and beauty. Finished off with amazing street food in a Taqueria in a huge covered market. Delicious Tacos and beer. Everything to like!

As other reviews have said the views were wonderful and it was a great way to see a lot of special areas/highlights of the region. Bring pesos so you can use the bathrooms at any of the stops!

However if you are prone to motion sickness this bus + canoe ride might not be for you, especially given how congested traffic is leading to a lot of start/stop driving (not the driver’s fault but a reality of the experience). Also be prepared to have people trying to sell you something everywhere you look, including on the boat ride. The booking says the tour finishes at 3:30 pm but we didn’t get dropped off until 5:30, so just be aware it’s quite a long day.

Fantastic day with our guide and driver. Eduardo navigated a procession with his expert driving. Carlos, our guide, was excellent. Incredibly knowledgeable and personable. We truly enjoyed his company and guidance. Frida’s house was well worth the visit. The canals were very interesting and beautiful.

The highlights were learning about the design meanings on the University murals and the Frida Kahlo museum. It was too crowded at the canal boats to be enjoyed. Would have liked to spend much more time exploring Coyoacan. The guide was knowledgeable and he and the driver were pleasant.

Roberto was our guide for this tour. He was not engaging, did not want to share much, would not help answer any of our questions. I would NOT recommend having him as a tour guide. We started our tour at 10AM and he said he would take us to the market for lunch, but He mismanaged the time we had. He did not leave any time for lunch so we had to skip the market. When I asked him what happened he said "well you can have lunch and miss the Museum" So we skipped the market and lunch. We had a horrible experience with this tour.

We spent a large part of a day touring Xochimilco, Coyoacán, the Diego Rivera and Frieda Kahlo Museum with Carlos and it was wonderful. The day started with Carlos and a driver meeting us in the lobby of our hotel and from there, we knew we were in good hands. Carlos has a wealth of knowledge — he was insightful, kind and funny.
