Visit Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast with an experienced driver-guide. Options on the Amalfi Coast are Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Sorrento, or less known Cetara and Maiori. The goal is that you see what you want to see. You can decide the itinerary as the day goes by in order to make the best of your time. Visit Pompeii on a private tour with an archeologist during the morning or later during the afternoon to stay away from the crowd and the heat. If you are traveling with children from 6 to 11 yrs old you can choose the family-friendly option for Pompeii.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Pompeii Archaeological Park
Pompeii is simply a miracle: the most incredible gift the Mt Vesuvius could ever give us. It was buried under 20 ft of soft volcanic debris. This left the ground levels basically intact. Most my guests do no expect it to be so big and well preserved. We will check the Forum, the Bath House, the Theatre. But - even more interesting - we will visit their private homes, the streets, the shops. We will learn about daily life in Ancient Rome. We will feel the presence of the ancient pompeians, feel their struggle for life, their virtues and vices, just normal people like all of us!
2. Amalfi Coast Drive
The Amalfi Drive is a scenic winding road with amazing picture opportunities. Along this road there are several charming villages where we can decide together to stop. It will be your choice where to stop, here are some different options: Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, Cetara etc..Also Sorrento on the other side of the coast is a possible option.
3. Torre di Cetara
If selected on tour with your driver - Cetara makes a good pair with Amalfi or Ravello. Cetara is on a a few places off-the-beaten track on the Amalfi Coast. You can take some time on own to explore the village, check the little beach and browse the shops. There are nice little restaurants as well. If you would be interested you can also ask your driver to stop by one the traditional workshop that produce the famous fish sauce called "colatura di alici". If you wish to visit to Old Tower let us know so we can reserve double check the availability.
4. Le Ville di Ravello
If selected on tour, it makes a good pair with Amalfi in terms of distance and traveling time - Ravello is a lovely resort town with some stunning views. If you wish you can decide to visit on own its wonderful Duomo or the beautiful Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo with their spectacular gardens. Or simply sit down at one of the lovely cafés in the Town square and watch the world go by. Great opportunities for local ceramic shopping if you wish.
5. Fontana sant'Andrea
If selected on tour - it makes a good pair with Ravello in terms of distance and traveling time. Amalfi was once the glorious capital of the Amalfi Coast. Today it is a vibrant town where you can enjoy some free time for visiting and/or shopping and/or checking the beach out.
6. Chiostro di San Francesco
If selected on tour - Sorrento would be our recommendation when visiting Positano, in terms of distance and traveling time. Sorrento is an ancient town located on a stunning cliff. In the Old Sorrento there is a great outdoor pedestrain market area where you will find the best opportunities on the coast for eating and shopping.
7. Fornillo
If selected on tour - it makes a good pair with Sorrento in terms of distance and traveling time. Positano is the best known resort town of the Amalfi Coast. The views from the Amalfi Drive down to Positano are just unforgettable. You can stop there and enjoy on own the pedestrian area full of lovely shops: art galleries, ceramic and sandal workshop, Positano-style linen fashion. Or also you can decide to walk down to the beach to check the Mediterranean Sea!

Fabrizio was an excellent guide who was engaging, spoke very good English, had a depth of knowledge of the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. He customize the stops based on our interests and communicated ahead of time to plan the day. We had one person with a gluten allergy and he even found freshly made gluten free pasta for lunch at a restaurant near the Pompeii entrance that is very difficult to find anywhere. Would use Fabrizio anytime in the Sorrento, Amalfi, Naples area again.

We had a wonderful day with Fabrizio! He knows a lot about the history and even what is still being discovered in Pompeii. He never made us feel, rushed and allowed us to choose how our day was spent. The ride along the coast was beautiful and he pulled over often for us to take pictures. Fabrizio will have our business again.

I cannot imagine doing this day with anyone else! From start to finish Fabrizio was an excellent tour guide. His knowledge of historical facts about Pompeii was impressive and sparked interest in all of us. Then the drive along the Amalfi coast was perfect! He was flexible and willing to offer ideas for lunch but allowed us to decide what we wanted to see! My daughters only wanted to get out in Positano so he made it happen.

If you think you can rent a vehicle and drive the coast yourself, you are crazy! Get Fabrizio!

Fabrizio was a wonderful guide. He was so knowledgeable about Pompeii and really painted a vivid picture of the place for us. He also set up lunch for us and gave us lots of recommendations when we visited Sorrento. The drive along the Amalfi Coast was beautiful—and the perfect relaxing way to end a busy day. On top of that, he’s a kind, laid-back person. You can tell he truly loves showing people around the area.

My group of 11 had a wonderful time seeing the Amalfi coast, Positano and Pompeii. Fabrizio was very accommodating to my group’s size and limited timeline on shore from our cruise ship ported in Naples. We drove down the winding roads along the Amalfi coast with informative commentary and did picture stops along the way. We then stopped at the picturesque Positano. Then we went to Pompeii and saw the major excavation sites and went into the museum. For the short amount of time we had we were able to see so much. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and Fabrizio was the best and most knowledgeable guide! Pasqual our second driver was also awesome. Thank you for such a great memorable tour!

I wish I could give him more stars!!! If you are considering this trip because you want a knowledgeable archaeologist to guide you through a magically preserved 2000 year old village, then book it. Your guide literally knows everything and has participated in similar excavations. If you think archeology and discovering ancient cultures is cool, this really is the best thing you can do. Your guide is also extremely accommodating and will take you to anywhere your heart desires as long as your schedule allows. I’ve never felt more comfortable and taken care of in another country. If the title of this excursion caught your eye, just book it. You will not be disappointed. I 100% guarantee it.

If I could give Fabrizio more than five stars I would! I read all the comments before I booked the trip and they were absolutely OnPoint. It was fabulous, and we appreciated all of the personal touches that we received! We were able to create a trip that was individualized to our needs and it was absolutely wonderful! Fabrizio‘s knowledge of Pompeii was fantastic and we really enjoyed our time there as well as lunch at a private little Trattoria that he picked out for us and a wonderful drive along the Amalfi coast, my husband and I could not have enjoyed our time more!
