Seljalandsfoss is a waterfall in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall drops 60 m and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull.
Stakkholtsgjá is what Lord of the Rings movies are made of. It has 100m-deep, ancient moss-covered walls and a dramatic twisting gorge with a hidden waterfall. Walk along the riverbed inside the canyon, when it splits in two veer left down a narrower canyon.
Thórsmörk is a mountain ridge in Iceland that was named after the Norse god Thor. It is situated in the south of Iceland between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull.
Not far from Seljalandsfoss, on the road to Þórsmörk (4WD required), hides one of the most thrilling and adventurous scrambles to a waterfall along a river and through an ancient moss-covered canyon.

Absolutely superb experience. My kids (and we) loved it. Our guide was super friendly and happy to chat about all sorts - not just the area we were visiting, but the truck we were in & how they're built, the history of Iceland, some of the Icelandic culture, etc.
A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a day.

Day trip to Thosrmark area for private tour, leaving from Hella not Reykjavik. Our guide was excellent--friendly and very knowledgeable not just about the area, but other questions we had about Iceland. The vehicle was very comfortable (more comfortable than the SUV we were renting). There were some large tour groups on one of the hikes, but being on a private tour our guide was able to navigate around them. Highly recommend if you want a more personalized visit at your own pace.

Our guide, Alf, was fantastic! He took us to some incredible spots. The landscape is amazing. He was super knowledgeable and we learned a lot. We will be back!

We had a great time driving deep into the valley with our guide, Baddi, on a snowy March day. We were able to cross several of the water ways and we saw a white Arctic fox as well as a black one as we were exploring. We also explored a waterfall as we worked our way back to Reykjavik. Our guide explained many things as we drove from Reykjavik to the valley. From Icelandic Sagas to explanations of why air is let out of the tires to get through the slush. This tour was a great way to explore parts of Iceland that are not accessible by a regular car. We also were able to get some close up pictures of Icelandic horses. Highly recommend this tour. We will be back for a summer trip to see the valley in a completely different way.

Even though we had extreme weather with 50+mph winds, Sami made sure we had a great time. The views and driving the terrain in the “super jeep” was so much fun! We managed to have a lovely hike up into the mountains, and saw beautiful waterfalls. It was definitely an adventure we will not forget.

What a wonderful Day. Thorsmork was absolutely beautiful. Our guide went 20 year old daughter on his back to cross the river as she didn't want to get her shoes wet. Thats above and beyond. He helped our conquer fear of rock climbing to see a beautiful waterfall.

We done the Valley of Thor private tour on our last day of Iceland and absolutely loved it. Our driver Magnus had an answer to every question we asked and took us to a hidden waterfall which was well worth the visit, as well as to see the glacier and mountains.

Sometimes a tour makes you fall in love with the destination. That was the effect of ours. The guide, Gisli, May have been the best part of the tour but the sights don’t disappoint. It would have been impossible for us to see this part of Iceland without the vehicle and the guide. The hike into the canyon, the waterfall, the park for lunch..... all of it perfect. We will be using them again.

The Thorsmork Super Jeep Tour was amazing. Would definitely recommend it highly! We had a fantastic time without wonderful guide Gunnar. He was a great driver, very knowledgeable and very kind. He helped us get to the waterfall and back and told many stories to keep everyone entertained. It was awesome!!!
