I started communicating with Jose of Cancun Catamarans on February 26, 2024 using the What’s Up App. We scheduled a trip for April 27. We were looking to book a private excursion for twelve adults. Jose suggested we book a seven hour excursion versus the four hours. All seemed to be going well and we Zelled the deposit. This seven hours was supposed to include sailing, snorkeling, more sailing, lunch, time on Isle of Mujeres, and sunset sail back to Cancun.
On March 9, Jose asked me if I could change my date. I told him I could not because we were leaving two days later and that was the only date available. So he said no problem. The DAY before our trip (April 26), Jose sent me a message that he was traveling and a fellow worker named Arturo would take care of us. I reached out to Arturo regarding the weather (there was a wind advisory) the morning of our excursion and his response was “is good”! When we arrived at the dock, Arturo was no where to be found and we were told that snorkeling would not be an option due to the wind and rough seas. Our boat was broken, and couldn’t dock without another boat assistance, the boat was filthy, and our trip was not anything promised to us. The seas were horribly rough (as predicted by the weather report), and we had people getting sea sick. Our age group is a healthy 55-75 years old.
Arturo magically showed up when we returned, to find us transportation, and announced he was on another boat.
Prior to making this review, I reached out to Jose. No response. This is why I am posting this review. They could have easily suggested a four hour tour, since they cancelled the snorkeling. They also could have just cancelled us. I would not recommend sailing with this establishment.

Lousy excursion on the catamaran named Paradise Explorer. Worst vacation day ever. If you like to be pushed around and treated like cattle, this is for you. Overloaded boat, barely room to sit, 6 seats only. Everyone was offered a drink, except the last 5 to enter the boat, of which we were one. Quickly, quickly, we have to leave, no time to offer drinks to the people who haven't received anything... We feel very rushed, we have to quickly pile up on the back deck stuck together like sardines for the exit snorkeling. Everything is urgent, we don't believe it so much, everything is urgent. 20 minute snorkeling with mask that takes in water every 5 seconds. Guide who constantly presses us, we must follow him quickly because the sea current is too strong. Everything is very urgent, no time to enjoy it. I get yelled at by the guide, I explain to him that I'm French Canadian, and he tells me that I'm supposed to speak English. Back on the boat, we were served an unedible lunch (terrible sandwich, soft pretzel, and so on). You have to ask for a drink and the service is very slow. The boat staff is not smiling and not very approachable. When I finally get a beer, we dock at Mujures. I kindly ask if I can take the time to finish my drink and the guide tells me to call it because I have to get off the boat. I'm not allowed to bring my lunch to the island, as it's a tourist trap, I'll have to eat a lot on the island. On the island, everything is paid except for a tequilla tasting. US$15 per hour to sit under an umbrella on the beach. Terrible beach, I repeat, terrible beach... crowded with people. We spend 3 hours 40 minutes on the island. Finally back on the boat, I have an undrinkable magarita. How do you miss a margarita???? The old guide who yelled at me because I didn't understand his English accent had the nerve to ask us for tips. I really don't recommend it to everyone. This kind of day is not a vacation.

This excursion was cancelled 20 minutes before the boat was scheduled to set sail and the only reason I heard the experience was cancelled was due to myself as well as the resort concierge calling the company multiple times. The company still owes me money for the transportation and docking costs I paid in advance!! I would be cautious of trusting this company for I booked this experience to celebrate my sister’s bachelorette party and to not even receive an update on the cancellation was an absolutely disappointing experience.

Had our family of ten on the boat. All ages enjoyed and the crew is super fun and attentive! We rescheduled when the wind prevented snorkeling and that was easily
accomadated. Boat was ours for the day and we could decide how long we wanted to be at a site.

I booked this private boat for a group of friends and myself. They told me that they would refund the docking fee for spots we did not fill and they never did. They also told us that it was too rough for snorkelling and that there was a storm coming so we had to cut the excursion short by over two hours. The water was completely fine and there was no storm. They would not refund the docking fees we did not use and they did not offer refund for cutting out trip short. Do not book the 7 hour excursion because they cut it short anyways. The food on the boat was extremely expensive for food that was served in plastic take out containers. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Amazing time! Staff was wonderful and made everything perfect. So relaxing. Next time I would skip the lunch buffet and do a sit down restaurant.
