The Military Fortress built in the 18th century was converted into a concentration camp during World War II. The part called „Big Fortress“ became a ghetto-concentration camp for Jews, whereas the „Small Fortress“ was used as a Gestapo police prison. Terezin was not only a place of suffering but also a place of courage, self–sacrifice and the never ending struggle to save those who were destined to be victims of the Holocaust. Entrance fees to both Small Fortress and the Big Fortress are included.

A visit to Terezin is a must do when in Prague. The small and large fortress are both worth visiting. Take time to go through the museum and see the hidden synagogue as well. Patrik was a great tour guide

Our guide Peter was very punctual, helpful, polite and knowledgeable. He would not hesitate to help us with our stroller as we try to navigate through bumpy roads and steep stairs. He shared with us lots of interesting tales relating to WWII. His commitment to sharing the history and giving us a pleasant experience was deeply appreciated. Highly recommend this tour!

For a tour that cannot be described as “fun” because of the important and heartbreaking subject matter, Pavel did a fabulous job of educating us, engaging us, and exposing us to the fortresses and the stories of the horrors that occurred. He was a wealth of information and easy to listen to and engage with. Should we find ourselves in Prague again, I will ask for him as our tour guide for one of the many other tours offered by this tour agency. The entire day ran smoothly and efficiently!
The only side note I would add for clarification purposes is that the listing says “limousine” in one spot and then “car/van” in another. It was not a limousine, although it was a spotlessly clean and new vehicle. (Which is good because a limousine in a ghetto seems incongruous!)

The receipt did not have the address and I pick the wrong place. Confusing based on where I thought I booked.

Patrik picked us up at our hotel, and was an excellent and extremely knowledgeable guide. The tour was very thorough, and led us through the history of the area (even the way to Terezin.) As a native of Prague, he also gave us great recommendations about food and activities in his hometown (and boy, did we need it after a walk through Terezin’s past!). We will highly recommend our experience with Patrik and Lucy Tours to our friends travelling to the area!
