After pick-up in Bergen, we start the journey to the village of Gudvangen, and on the way we make a stop at Tvinde Waterfall where you can walk right up to the foot of the large waterfall. In the summer months we also stop at Stalheim where there is a breathtaking view down to the Naeröydal valley with steep mountains on all sides.
Well ahead in Gudvangen we board the electric ship "Future of the Fjords" to Flåm. The Unesco World Heritage site Nærøyfjord is surrounded by high mountains and is a beautiful sight both in summer and winter.
From Flåm, the trip continues with the dramatic and world-famous Flåm Railway which is one of the world's steepest railways. The 20-km train journey gives you a panoramic view of some of the wildest and most magnificent of Norwegian mountain nature, including the famous Kjosfossen waterfall. At Myrdal station, a train changes to the Bergen Railway which takes you to Voss where you are picked up and the car will take you back to Bergen.

It was a fabulous experience. Gave us such an informative and all around knowledge and feel of Bergen culture and heritage as well as all of Norway.
Arne is incredible and texted us where to go and what to do when we were on train or whenever he wasn’t with us Constant information so well organized.

In the late 1990s I worked with a tour company that booked tours in Italy and Norway for travel agent’s clients. One popular tour, I always wanted to take myself, was the Flam railway.
This August my husband and I, now in our 80s, booked a cruise from Bergen to NYC with a two night stay in Bergen prior. We booked the Private guided Flam day tour including the Naeroyfjord Cruise and the Flam Railway. Michael, our guide for the day, arrived at our Bergen hotel at 8am and drove us to Voss for the two trains to Flam where he met us and drove, mainly through a several mile long tunnel, to Gudvangen to catch the tour boat to Flam where he again met us and drove us back to the hotel in Bergen. It was a very long driving day for Michael. He was “the best”. A very considerate and mindful driver. We thank him so much for a wonderful day and fulling my long hoped for tour.

Arne was a great guide! He got us where we needed to go on time even with delays outside his control. Provided colorful and interesting commentary on the sites and for Norway in general. We highly recommend this tour!

The company that organizes this full-day tour employs only native local guides, who provide you with an insider's insights. Our guides were Paul, who drove the van and provided extensive commentary; and Erika, who accompanied us on the trains and electric cruise boat, facilitated our access to great seats, and offered helpful hints for obtaining the best photos. Both of them were very personable and engageable, and made the day a true pleasure for us. The fjord cruise on a bright sunny day was a particular highlight of our trip!

The whole experience was amazing. Our guide, Paal was helpful, informative and good company. The Flam railway was spectacular and the Fjord cruise was incredible. Norway has left us breathless with its stunning scenery. Paal helped us immensely we would not have known how to bring this amazing day together without his expertise. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who goes to Bergen

First leg of train from I think Flam to Voss was especially gorgeous but entire tour was full of beautiful scenery. Tour guides were all great, knowledgeable and very helpful with getting us best seats, alerting us to upcoming spectacular views, etc. Paul, Erica, and Tonya were wonderful.

Perfect Day. Our Guide Pål was great. He picked us up at our hotel exactly on time drove us through the countryside while explaining the history of the area and stopping at some special sites. He got us on the ferry and told us exactly were to sit. After the cruise, he met us and got us on the Flam and eventually met up in Voss for the ride hope. Excellent

Our guide Arne was an amazing storyteller and full of information on how best to enjoy the cruise and train experience. He went above and beyond our expectations (even helping me get my glasses fixed in town after they came apart). The scenery was amazing and the boat was spacious and smooth. Good food and drinks on board as well. I highly recommend this trip!
