Step aboard your private gondola and glide through the canals of Venice. Whether you want to meander through hidden corners or glide under famous bridges and sights – this tour satisfies all tastes. Fabio, one of the gondoliers, says, ‘Being a gondolier is so much more than operating a gondola. Over 400 hours go into getting a Gondolier license, learning the ins and outs of the canals, Venetian art and history. You’re really in the safest hands.’
The shortest tour focuses on the San Paolo district. Discover an intimate side of Venice and lesser-known gems. Canal-facing facades are a unique characteristic of Venetian buildings before streets came along – the canals were the streets – and they were a way of showing style and wealth.
If you want to continue to the Grand Canal you can choose the 1-hour tour and If you’re bursting to see Venice’s more famed locations, the 1.5-hour tour showcases the Rialto Bridge area and the longest ride adds St. Mark’s Square to the itinerary.

Our Gondolier Fabio was really friendly and told us lots of information about Venice and life as a Gondolier. Would definitely recommend going off the beaten track rather than down the Grand Canal which looked more touristy.
Easy to find the pick up point and Fabio accommodated the fact that we had arrived 30 minutes early.

The meeting point is near the train station, which was a walk of 40 min for us.
the route was not as pretty and our gondolier didn't share any information, however he was very punctual and help us get in ans out.
Overall a 30min gondola in the big canal would have had a better scenary for 90eur

Excellent friendly guide called Marco. Very calm and quiet away from the crowds and a part of Venice you wouldn’t normally see

Our Gondolier was so personable and explained what we were seeing. History of specific buildings. We took off the beaten path route. It was much more pleasant than the very crowded grand Canal, and Rialto Bridge areas
Everyone wants to do. I also recommend going early morning as the water was like glass. The weather was perfect..

One of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences during our time in Venice. Our gondelier, Paolo, showed us many wonderful views of the hidden canals. Very picturesque!

Quiet, off the crowed canals. We had a hour ride, which I had read 30 minutes was too short. This was just perfect. Giacomo told us some history as he pointed out the highlights. We took our ride on April 6, 2024. Weather was beautiful!! Would recommend!

Seeing other parts of the canals OTHER than the Grand Canal was fascinating. The gondolier was friendly and very competent.

It was a very wet, rainy day, and chilly. No matter how many layers of water protection we had, there was no escaping it. The canals were choppy, and one of the guides complained he didn't want to go out. Our guide gave very little information as to where we were traveling, pointing out only the major places (the train stations, old and new, the university and the palace). While it was off the beaten path (which was okay because the Grand Canal, with all of the boat traffic and rain was quite scary) it would have been nice to know where we were and why they chose that particular canal. But hey, it's Venice.

We were expecting a “tour” of Venice with commentary. The gondoliers instead spoke loudly to each other over the waters. We passed by quiet houses and a few buildings, but there was no context to what we were looking at.
The whole trip lasted 20 minutes.
I wish I would have booked a gondola near the train station on gondolier row.
