3. Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute
Santa Maria della Salute is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica located at Punta della Dogana in the Dorsoduro sestiere of the city of Venice. It stands on the narrow finger of Punta della Dogana, between the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal, at the Bacino di San Marco, making the church visible when entering the Piazza San Marco from the water. In 1630, Venice experienced an unusually devastating outbreak of the plague. As a votive offering for the city's deliverance from the pestilence, the Republic of Venice vowed to build and dedicate a church to Our Lady of Health. The dome of the Salute was an important addition to the Venice skyline and soon became emblematic of the city, inspiring artists such as Canaletto, J. M. W. Teatro La Fenice is an opera house in Venice. The Malibran Theater is our second home. It was designed by Tommaso Bezzi. In 1992 it was acquired by the Venice Municipality.

Getting off the gondola… 22:35 was our time on the gondola… our gondolier was a little sarcastic when asked questions, wasn’t dressed the part of gondolier and as soon as he docked he departed the gondola to have a smoke… almost 5 minutes were spent wading in front of docking station at the end of our 22:35 minute ride…. Please don’t book with these people… money spent was wasted… my wife’s 75th birthday gondola celebration was a sad experience…
We’ll have to go in person and pay for gondola ride, so we know what we’re getting..!!

The gondola ridde was nice and romantic as it start with the hussle buzzle on Grand canal andd then went through the smaller quieter canals which was romantic.

It was nice to have a bucket list experience in the famed Venice, Italy. Would be more enjoyable in a group or with a significant other. Our experience was jaded by the fact that the person dispatching the rides tried to place us with a group even when told we paid for private. All in all nice experience.

We were booked on a 30 minute trip. The gondelier left the station on the grand canal and circled behind the station on narrow canals that were full of other traffic. It was a stop start journey while our driver shouted continually to his colleagues. After 20 minutes we came back out of the traffic jam back onto the grand canal where he started to turn into the station. I raised the short journey and asked him to complete the 30 minute trip on the grand canal which is what my wife and I wanted to experience. To be fair, he did give us another 10minutes before ending the trip. I am dutecthrcyrip can be magical but not in our case.

The gondolier took us only 15 minutes. He was rude abd talked on the phone. Horrible. Waiste of money!

It was wonderful but not as I had expected. Just have to do this as this is Venice, city on water.
It was relaxing, but very short. Did enjoy this for the time we had on the water in the Gondola.

Perfect Gondola ride.
Fixed prices so don't get scammed by others.
Pick up spot was exact.
I liked this because it was set in advance. You don't have to reserve it, but if it's busy you'll wait.
By booking in advance you walk right up and get on.
Gondoliers don't sing to you. They do talk to you, but not all speak great English.
You can't go to Venice and not ride a Gondola.
We chose close to sundown. It was perfect. it was cooler and it wasn't as crazy busy with all the tourists and people off the cruise ships.

Supposed to be a romantic ride for 2, the guy was miserable as sin, and he took us back after 19 minutes saying it was unsafe, when I questioned saying only 19 minutes he said you've had 20 !! I said well others are still going out?? I said we paid for 30 so he took us back out into the canal and just stopped in 1 place for 5 minutes and then went back, so we had 25 minutes and it just did not make us feel romantic at all, as we hot off the boat we asked the guy for a photo and he reluctantly took one, as we got off and walked passed a tips box a guy said thanks for your tips knowing we had not left any, I would suggest not bothering with this ride as you will be disappointed, another couple who set off a couple of minutes behind us went back when the guy tried to take us back, so it seems everyone gets 20 minutes!! Not the 30 you pay for !! When I spoke to viator about it they just declined my comments and said hope you have a nice day, I have since cancelled 2 trips I had with them and used get your guide who seem pretty good.
