Without doubt one of the best private tours my family has ever taken. It made our first trip to Iceland unforgettable.
Our guide Oddi arrived 10 minutes prior to our scheduled departure and made sure we knew that he was entirely at our disposal and there was no rush and the day was ours.
Once we all loaded up into his tour van we started our journey to hike the Fagrafalsfjall Volcano. Not only were we able to see the eruption site from 2021 we also had a great view of the latest volcanic eruption that took place on December 18.
Oddi was extremely knowledgeable about all things Iceland and made sure the hiking was at a pace that the whole family could good, handle and enjoy.
Oddi is such a warm personality and highly knowledgeable guide. We truly enjoyed him hiking the family through the area. The scenery was otherworldly and it was a once in a life time experience to walk on a lava field that was still smoking.

This was one of the best experiences. The guides were so knowledgeable and allowed for us to take our time. I went to 5 tours and this was one of the best ones. This is a great experience. Expect a lot of wind and tough walk for people who have zero fitness active level. I highly recommend this tour.

We travelled to Fagradalsfjall with Oddi from 2GO Iceland Travel. There were three couples. We throughly enjoyed our day! We traveled up to the 2021 eruption lava field. We saw the cracks in the lava with steam coming out. Oddi took the temp at 775 F. The hike took between 6-7 hrs round trip. After the hike, Oddi took us to a geothermal springs area to see the boiling water coming from the earth. It was a fun surprise! Oddi was attentive and went the pace of our group. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

This private excursion was a highlight of our trip! Because it was private we were picked up and dropped off at our Airbnb. Our guide, Oddi, was excellent!!! He did a few extra stops that we loved! He was so knowledgeable and personable. He was very patient with us on what for us, coming from very flat lands, felt like a little more of a challenge. The weather was beautiful and the views just stunning!!! We learned so much more by doing this with our guide instead of trying to do it on our own and having someone else do the driving also allowed us to enjoy the experience without the hassle of figuring that out as well. It also made us feel safe by having a guide while on the lava! I cannot recommend this highly enough! Thank you Oddi and 2Go Iceland for such a memorable experience!!

This was the absolute highlight of our Iceland trip. Oddi is a treasure and we had such an amazing time on the tour he gave us. He was very informative, went at our pace, went completely above and beyond with everything he showed us, was so patient as we took a million photos of the gorgeous scenery, and had a wonderful sense of humor. The landscape is so beautiful and unique. We made it all the way to the top which was very rewarding. Having never seen a volcano before, let alone one that had recently erupted, I was blown away. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!!!

My mom and I did this tour on our last day in Iceland, and it was absolutely the best part of our trip! Oddi was a fantastic guide who was so sweet and accommodating and shared so much great information with us about Icelandic culture and history. I truly can’t recommend this experience enough!

Our guide, Haffi, lives in the town at the base of the lava fields from the last three eruptions and knows the area extremely well. He was early for the pick up at our hotel and along the way, explained different hikes we could take based on our fitness level as well as the history of the area and the historic and recent eruptions.
We took the more strenuous because it offered the closest proximity to the lava field, which was from the 2021 eruption, but still steaming in parts and similar to a black desert/moonscape. Round trip the hike was a little over 5 miles, very steep and loose rocks/gravel over portions, good hiking shoes are needed.
Well worth the effort, an incredibly unique experience, with an excellent guide. Money well spent. There is no way we would have had the same experience climbing the volcano on our own. On the way back to Reykjavilk, we stopped in this geothermal field that is a regional or national park. Various bubbling pots of boiling water and stream raising from the ground just off the fairly long boardwalk. Super cool, but no railings so be careful with the kids!
