Explore the wine culture, through the most complete Douro Valley during a day excursion.

This amazing tour, gives you the opportunity to visit two of the best wine estates in the region and feel the essence of being in the heart of this precious wine region.

You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the wine estates and see all the wine cultivation and production process, being at the source of the Porto Wine. The "birthplace" of this unique nectar!
During the tour enjoy 6 wine tastings while admiring the astonishing landscapes and serenity of the Douro Valley, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, since 2001.

The guided visit to 2 different wine estates with tastings, a complete traditional lunch with Douro wines and a scenic 50 minutes cruise on the Douro River is included on this full package.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Porto
Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.
2. The Douro Valley
Welcome to the Douro Region, famous for it's valley, Unesco World Heritage site, the oldest demarked wine region with unique landscapes of vinyards and the magical Douro river giving you the perfect background for a day of amazing wine tastings.
3. Sabrosa
Arriving in Sabrosa we will do our first visit of the day. We will discover the first of two wineries where you learn about the wine production and history of Douro Region, and its wines. You will have the oportunity to taste different wines before the lunch. A complete lunch will be served by the end of the visit: a full traditional portuguese meal with entrance, main dish, dessert, pairing with Douro red or white wine.

After lunch we will drive through the windy Douro roads on the way to Pinhão and we will do a quick photo stop at one of the most impressive viewpoints of the region. Enjoy the views and share with your friends and collegues on social media!
5. Pinhao
It's now time to sail! Enjoy a 50 minutes scenic cruise on the Douro river departing from Pinhão on board of a traditional Rebelo boat.

National Road 222: drive through the most beautiful road in the world Did you know that one of the most beautiful roads in the world is Portuguese? We talk about the Estrada Nacional 222, which takes you to discover the incredible Douro wine region. On our tour will pass on this amazing road and point out the most scenic views.
7. Folgosa
Our wine tour is not over yet! There is time to visit one more renown Winery. The winery expert guide will walk you through the estate ,explaining the process from the vinyard to the bottle ending with a magnificent tasting of three different types of wines.

In alternative, we can collect you from the Tourist Service/Living Tours located at Rua Mouzinho da Silveira, 350, Porto - next to Porto - São Bento train station.Reservation is mandatory and requires na emai request/confirmation. Bookings must be confirmed at least 48 hours befor the date of the servisse. Cancellations within 48 hours or less will be fully charged.

Our tour guide Ana made our trip perfect. She was as a fantastic driver, was charming and personable as well as attentive. Bring a sweater for cooler wine cellars + sunscreen, sunglasses & a hat for the boat. This tour - the nice lunch, upscale van and super guide is worth paying a little extra for a guaranteed enjoyable day.

This was a fantastic day for our group of 3 women. The lunch and wine/port tasting at Fonseca was so much fun and so delicious. One hour river cruise is all we needed to get a sense of how beautiful the Douro is. Our driver was wonderful, friendly and very informative. His MB Van was spotless. Loved being picked up and dropped off at our hotel in Porto. Living Private Tours was the company that took us and I would highly recommend using them for a memorable tour!

A tour that cannot be missed! Our tour guide Daniel planned every detail so we could relax and enjoy the beautiful Douro valley and it's offerings! He had great rapport and familiarity with the wineries we visited. He was genuinely friendly and we enjoyed his conversation and knowledge. Highly recommend!

We were contacted by the tour operator when we arrived in Porto re our booked tour and communication was good.
We were collected from our hotel by Paulo, who was friendly, professional and knowledgable about our tour. He gave us lots of information about Porto, the Douro Valley and wine production. He recommended places and restaurants for us to try during our stay and concluded the trip by dropping us at a viewing point in Porto for a fabulous sunset drink.
The wine tasting and lunch at a family run vineyard was the tour highlight as we were warmly welcomed by the vineyard owners. Their vineyard history and wine production was informative and the food and wine were delicious.
Our second wine tasting was a good contrast to the first where we sampled a selection of ports and wine.
We were a private party of 4 and the day felt very personal with the exception of the boat trip which was disappointing in this otherwise perfect day.
The highly personal nature of this tour made it worth the money we paid for it.
