You will return into medieval times with this private day trip to Rouen by train.
With the enthusiastic knowledge of your personal tour guide, this will be your opportunity to discover and learn about this historic Normandy tow's quaint medieval and renaissance architecture.
Joan of Arc, a tragic heroin of the 100 years war who was burnt in Rouen, William the conqueror, Rollo the Viking, Richard the Lion Heart (the latter being mentioned in the adventures of Robin Hood) are some of the greatest figures who shaped the history of Rouen, of Normandy, and the relationships between France and England for more than 100 years. You'll get thrilled to learn about their lives while walking on their footstep.
By the way! You'll also admire the tallest gothic cathedral of France that impressionist artist Claude Monet obsessively painted: Cathedral Notre-Dame of Rouen, being the actual tallest gothic cathedral of France.

2. Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen
As the tallest cathedral of France, Notre-Dame (Our Lady) of Rouen has been painted several times by Impressionist painter Claude Monet who loved recreate the sunlight variations on it throughout the day. Inside the church lies many treasures, among which the tomb effigy of the duke of Normandy and king of England Richard Lion Heart, and other powerful medieval figures of Normandy and France.
3. Gros-Horloge
Iconic belfry with its daintily crafted clock. While we'll admire it from the lively pedestrian street that goes under the belfry, it will be possible for an additional fee to visit inside and climb up the stairs for a spectacular view of Rouen!
4. Aitre Saint-Maclou
A former medieval style graveyard, recently turned into a cultural center with a café and art galerie. Quite eerie!
5. Eglise Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc
A modern church with magnificient 16th century stained-glass windows, next to site of Joan of Arc's last breath, built in honor of her martyrdom.
6. Palais de Justice
Through the quaint medieval looking streets, there is this magnificent building, a symbol of renaissance architecture.
7. Le Bucher de Jeanne d'Arc
Historic site of Joan of Arc's execution. The whole city of Rouen is vividly impregnated with the martyrdom and last breath of this national icon.

The Joan of Arc Historial is not a traditional museum with classic works hung on walls. It is rather an immersive show re-enacting our heroin's saga and posthumous trial for rehabilitation in 1456 where witnesses of this era will guide you from room to room ensuring you an unforgettable experience.

Milan treated us like friends visiting his country! We had an amazing experience thanks to him. He guided us perfectly to where we needed to go, gave us great information and history about each location. We would not have known how to make our way around these cities without him! Giverney was my favorite, Monet’s house truly stunning and following St. Joan of Arc’s footsteps were incredible.

We enjoyed exceptional experiences and are grateful to Milan for making our trip even more special!! We would recommend him 1,000%!!!!

We had the most spectacular day with With Love From Paris. We did the Rouen Day trip with Joan of Arc highlights. It was the best tour of our trip. Milan was a fantastic guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and easy to listen to. He kept us engaged and interested the entire day. Time flew by. I would highly recommend him and his company to anyone traveling to Paris or the surrounding areas. You won’t find better.

This was without a doubt the best tour I have ever been on (and I’ve been on a few) while the tour itself was amazing, what made it far beyond anything I’ve experienced so far was our guide, Milan. Hands down Milan is a true professional and created a magical day that we will never forget. From the communication prior to the tour, to the little touches along the way Milan made this day for us smooth, educational, wonderful and memorable. We were met by Milan exactly where directed, and smoothly boarded our train, Milan providing many points of interest along the way. My partner and I travelled with two young children and Milan made sure that they were entertained the whole journey and even surprised us all by buying them a bag of chocolates from one of the stores in Rouen.
We chose this tour to see Rouen and learn about Joan of Arc. We were not disappointed, this was a terrific insight into all things Joan of Arc and I for one learned a lot more than I knew prior. But it didn’t stop there, the history of Paris, France, Rouen, and many more were all passed to us by Milan throughout the day. His knowledge and passion for his country and its history was astounding.
We will definitely travel back to France in the future and would not hesitate to take another tour with Milan, a wonderful guide and true professional. At the conclusion of our journey Milan escorted us to the nearest taxi making sure we were safely in the car and informed our driver of or hotel. There was not a single thing for us to worry about the entire day. Absolutely fabulous!!

We had a wonderful day touring Rouen with Milan . Milan gave us a historic and current perspective of all we saw. His sense of humor and ease of conversation was relaxing. From the time we sat on the Train until we sadly said Au Revoir the day was exceptional. The sites and the food will not be forgotten. Looking forward to taking more tours with Milan in the years to come.

All of it was so exciting to see medieval buildings. My guide Milan was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and it made it become more alive.

What a wonderful adventure. Our tour guide, Milan, is kind, and extremely knowledgeable. On this tour we traveled, by train, not only to Rouen, but also to Giverny and toured the home and gardens of Monet. This was our first trip outside of Paris and it was beautiful. This tour made our trip to France very special… thanks to Milan. Do not miss out on this tour. Be sure, if possible, to ask for Milan.

Milan is one of the best guides I have used. He allowed me to customize our tour months before arriving in Paris and suggested several additions. He contacted me several times before the tour — one being two days before the tour with the precise time of pickup. His historical knowledge of the areas toured is extraordinary. Milan even added on taxi service when he saw that my sister was having knee issues. The whole day was amazing as is Milan.
