1. Rome
The day starts with a pick-up from your hotel in Rome by your expert driver-guide. On the way to Pompeii, you will hear the fascinating story behind this world-famous archaeological site. The eruption of Mount Vesuvius on the 24th of August in 79 AD turned this once thriving harbor city into an inferno of death and destruction.
2. Pompeii
Pompeii is one of the most beautiful and impressive archaeological sites you might see in your life. You can spend an entire day over there. The major highlights of the destination that you shouldn't miss are the amphitheater, villa of mysteries, house of a dancing faun, the frescos, graffiti, and mosaics are also very interesting to watch. If you want to boost your traveling experience and get the most of it, we highly recommend to get a professional local guide. It will add up to 160 euros to the total but it's definitely worth it, After the visit to Pompeii we will continue driving to reach the Amalfi coast, we will make several stops to admire the stunning panoramic views first at Sorrento and a longer break in the former sleeping fishing village of Positano. Today this picturesque town is a popular tourist destination thanks to its beauty and charm. PLEASE NOTE: in summer we visit Pompei in the afternoon, in winter we do it in the morning.
3. Sorrento
After the visit to Pompei we will drive along the Amalfi coast making different stops to enjoy the beautiful views specially at Sorrento & Positano. Since it's a private tour so the itinerary is flexible and you can change it as you want, our drivers can guide you better about the best route and which sites are worth visiting so you don't miss anything.
4. Positano
Lunch time your driver will take you to a family restaurant on the top of the mountain to enjoy a typical meal and wine of this area of southern Italy and also a panoramic beautiful view of the bay of Positano. After lunch you have some free time to stroll in the small streets of Positano to enjoy the atmosphere and charm of that place and maybe do some shopping.
5. Rome
Drive back to Rome, drop off at your hotel.

Modi was great! His driving was excellent thru the narrow coastal streets. Perfect balance of talk and quiet time. I’d have LOVED more coastal time so I might like to have booked one trip Or the other but we had no way to know and happy we did this. It was a big splurge for us (originally thought I booked motor coach but cancelled it somehow and am glad ) and worth it! Our private Pompeii guide, Roberta, was very knowledgeable and friendly. That was also worth it even though it was just a little under two hours and you could spend many more hours there. GREAT weather MADE this trip so much more enjoyable

The views, the roads, the sea! It was amazing! It was so nice to be in a private vehicle. Pompeii was rich in history. Our driverAhmed/Melos was fantastic! Very knowledgeable.

This was a great trip!!! Our tour guide, Ahmed, was awesome! It was a very personalized tour, we had a nice drive down to Pompeii. They helped us with a private guide through Pompeii (also great). Lunch in Sorrento, and finally to the sea in Positano!!! Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable about the area and the history. The views were fantastic! Having a private vehicle was nice especially after numerous crowded tours.

Excellent trip. Our driver Modi was the best. He made the trip what it was. Really flexible as we didn’t stay in Pompeii for more than an hour. He then drove us to Positano and literally helped the wait staff ready a table by the window for us. And the food was the best we had our entire trip. He then drove us all the way down to a short walk to the beach. If you can request him, I would do so. One of the best guides I’ve had and a great friendly person. Great driver as the roads to Positano are something I wouldn’t want to drive. He drove them like a pro.

To walk the rocky streets of the original Pompei, to look and imagine how the houses and shops were and to hear the history as you viewed the actual ruins and to see an actual preserved person from those times was unforgettable.
And on the same day, ride to Positano and see the beautiful views of the mountains, the sea and the colorful city on the hillside was outstanding and will not be forgotten. It was a fantastic day.

This IS the oNLY way to see Pompeii and Amalfi. Our guide was Mido who was incredibly helpful with our private tour and getting us to the beach in Positano. Top driver/guide and a very cool and comfortable ride!!

Excellent place to see the old civilization structure, it is bit hot but worth seeing the place. If you are going private tour make sure to confirm car size, the one I had is small Benz no leg room for 4+ hour trip.

I paid for a private tour and had to share the vehicle with a family of five. The lunch schedule was rearranged due to the restaurant being closed, I guess with all of the delays we didn't get any additional time to shop after the Pompeii tour, that was disappointing.
