We’ll visit Pompei in the morning(if you would like to have private guide for 2 hours tour inside the ruins add 130 euro), after that we’ll move to a beautiful winery at feet of Mount Vesuvius where you will have lunch and wine testing. You will try 6 kind of the local wine production(3 kind of Lacrima Christy), one Gran Riserva and Dessert spumante and distillate of apricot. All this in the while you will have your lunch with an appetizers of Bruschetta, salami, cheese. Then you will eat fresh made pasta Setaro cooked with extra vergin olive oil, fresh cherry tomatoes and basel; at the end typical Neapolitan cake (pastiera) for enjoy the 2 kind of dessert wine. We picked this day excursion with Private Day Tours over the cruise excursions offered by Norwegian Cruise Line. Once off the ship, we were promptly greeted by our driver, Aldo. We were whisked away to Sorrento to walk around on our own and see the beautiful city by the sea. Our drive to Sorrento was highlighted by incredible vistas of the cliff side shore line. Aldo stopped to let us take in the views and snap a quick pic.
Our next stop was a small winery with fantastic views of Mount Vesuvius. We were given a tour and then sat down to a fantastic and filling lunch. For dessert we had a ricotta cake that was the best I’ve had. The chef has her own cookbook and spent time greeting us and telling us about her life. The wine was delicious as well.
We ended the tour at Pompei with a private guide. Everyone we saw let us know that we had the best guide at Pompei. She showed us all the highlights and relayed the incredible story of Pompei.
We loved having the personalized attention and someone to answer all of our questions.
Aldo was very entertaining for our drive and also very knowledgeable. We could tell that he loved to share his insight into his home.
When Aldo dropped us off at the ship there was an incredibly long line to board. Instead of dropping us off, he offered to wait with us. There was no need but it was a kind gesture. He proceeded to question his friends and fellow tour guides to find out the problem and returned to let us know the issue with the line.
We would definitely recommend this tour to all of our friends. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Italy I’m sure we will try some of the other tours offered by Private Day Tours.

We had the pleasure of booking two tours with Gianluca -- one for Pompeii/Herculeo/Winery and then for a private boat tour of Capri, Both were exceptional experiences.
Aldo, our amazing driver for the Pompeii experience, made our vacation, helping us get lost luggage! He was so fun and knowledgable and was truly a pleasure to be around! If not for him calling the airport and numerous other agencies, our luggage would still be lost. He saved the day and help us make the most of our time at the historical sites. Our tour guide Francisco, knew the best places to show us during the historical site visits.
We also enjoyed our day trip to Capri with Andrea and Alessia. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Andrea knew the best kept secrets of Capri and was a terrific caption and shared his grandmother's Limoncello with us.
5 out of 5 stars for everything.

We had a great day with Laura. She was timely picking us up and had lively conversation in route to Pompeii. She gave us plenty of time in Pompeii as well as the winery. It was so nice to let someone else do the planning and coordinating. She was very agreeable to stop and let us take pictures along the trip. Very good and prompt communication prior, during and after our activity. Highly recommend!

The owner, Gianluca Savarese, arranged for us a full day tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum with a private guide, Daniela Mantice. It was an incredibly fascinating day, learning the history of both sites from an expert in art history and early Roman history. She tailored the explanations to our group and made it interesting for the kids. Our driver, Lello, was helpful, easygoing, and very safe and made a great lunch recommendation. I give Gianluca and his group my highest recommendation.

We booked four separate items with Private Day Tours - to and from Positano to Naples Airport, Day trip to Pompeii, Winery, and Herculenium, and Day Trip to Ravello and Amalfi. We had the same driver, Marco, for all of the excursions except the trip back to the airport. He was a delightful person - always punctual, pleasant and forthcoming with tips and information for us. The Pompeii/Winery excursion was terrific. We had a private guide at Pompeii who was extremely knowledgeable and made the experience so much more meaningful. The meal we had at the Winery was spectacular. We also very much enjoyed our trip to Ravello and Amalfi and the restaurant recommended by Marco. Gaetano took us back to the airport on a day that the road was closed due to fallen rock. Gaetano actually moved the blockade so we could get through and get to the airport on time! Really incredible service. I highly recommend Private Day Tours for all your excursions in the Amalfi Coast! SuzanneR

Doing a private tour by minivan from pickup at our Hotel in Rome,Pomepii,winery Sorrento and Naples. The trip was pleasant as there was the driver and the tour guide.
Stopping and letting us get coffee and a bite to eat because we had an early morning,then on to Pompeii a guided tour Then off to lunch at
Bosco De Medici vineyards which we tasted 4 different wines and had a delicious lunch. Then onto Naples with breathe taking views. To sipping coffee and having
a delicious cannoli from the Famous Caffe Gambrinus coffee. I would recommend this tour as a New Yorker is was worth every peny.

We were leaving Positano area and it was our last day before flying back home. We wanted to make the most of our travel day so we arranged to be picked up at our hotels and to visit Pompeii and Vesuvius on our way to be dropped at Naples train. . Lello was our driver and he was so cheerful and knowledgeable. He took us to a fabulous winery for a scrumptuous lunch between our visits to the two sites. Gianluca arranged a terrific guide for our Pompeii visit. We really enjoyed our entire day and were so glad that we were able to do more than just travel on our last day in Italy.
