IMPORTANT NOTE: It is impossible to visit all the monuments that Sintra has in just one day. We are more than happy to tailor the itinerary to match your preferences within the 8hours duration of the tour. The typical day is visiting 1 or 2 palaces & gardens inside and engage with the rest from the outside. With the driving and lunch break, that will be a long, fulfilling (and awesome) day.
Also, comfortable shoes and a spare jacket are recommended in Sintra.

This tour is really just transport to and from Sintra from Lisbon. If you go inside any of the sights you also have to pay the entrance fee for all of them which was not clear when I purchased the tour. It was only two days before the tour that the company advised that there would be additional charges for entrance to Pena Palace and the gardens as well as any of the other tourist spots in Sintra. Not only that, we paid to go into Pena however our guide didn’t get us to the Palace in time for the tour so we missed it therefore paid for the entrance but didn’t get to go inside. There is a bus up the hill to Pena which we paid for but our guide didn’t want to wait for the bus since we were so late so my 75 year old mother was rushed up the hill despite her knee issues and advanced age.
While the tour people are nice it is very expensive for the service and not well planned as we missed the entrance to Pena we paid for. I can’t recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed our time in Sintra! We appreciated that Dominos reached out ahead of time to confirm the reservation and give us some useful information about buying tickets to sites ahead of time. Jaöa was lovely and flexible, working with us to make our itinerary ideal.

Our guide picked us up from Lisbon and drove us to Sintra. On the way we discussed ideas for what to do there and came up with a plan. Once there he was a mix of very knowledgeable guide who talked about the history of Sintra, driver who took us to and picked us up from the attractions, and amiable companion showing us the best places to eat. He gave us brilliant tips about what to do at each attraction meaning we spent far less time in queues while still seeing everything we wanted to and using the time saved to see even more. If we’re lucky enough to return to Sintra we’d definitely use again.

We visited 3 sites with Joao and had a wonderful time. We lost about an hour to traffic (didn’t realize it was a national holiday) but he had a great sense of humor about it and was flexible. On top of being a fantastic tour guide, his food recommendations were also spot on.
Ahead of our day trip, I communicated with the team about which tickets we needed to purchase in advance and am grateful for their recommendations so we could skip long lines.

We had an amazing day in Sintra with our guide Carolina. She was so patient and accommodating and navigated the crowded streets to get us to our desired venues in time to see what we wanted despite the huge crowds. She was personable, friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend her as a guide.

Frederico is an amazing guide, very welcoming and attentive to individual needs and priorities for the trip. Great day in Sintra and personalised tour of Quinta da Regaleira. We also visited Cabo da Roca, it was extremely windy but beautiful views.

Had a wonderful day at Sintra! We were able to visit all the sites we requested - Pena, Quinta da Regaleira, Castelo dos Mouros, plus the historic town center. Frederico was great - he grew up in Sintra so had intimate knowledge of the best places to go for refreshments, etc. plus when and where to go to make the most of our time at the palaces. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Sintra and also had many personal stories that gave a real feeling of connection to the area. We would definitely seek him out again if we are able to return someday.

Joao picked us up and we were off to a wonderful day of exploring the Sintra region and coast. He gave us a thorough history of the Pena Palace. We asked to skip the rest of the palaces and see more of the beauty of the coast. He was SO accommodating showing us his favorite beach, the western most point of the European continent, etc. Lunch was fabulous and Joao was an absolute delight...funny, charming and intelligent. I would highly recommend Joao and this tour to anyone wishing to explore the region.
