Join Birchy or one of our expert guides on a private tour of the key-sites related to the Berlin Wall and Cold War Berlin. Learning the when, why, how of the Berlin Wall explore the incredible Berlin Wall Memorial, with the complete death-strip preserved and partially reconstructed. Unique even prior to the memorialization that occurred after the wall fell, it was the scene of incredible escapes and tragic loss of life.

From the Wall Memorial we will head to part of Mitte where the Berlin Wall bounded the American Sector to the South and as well as the British Sector to the west. There we will see the Check Point Charlie (the most famous of all the crossing points between West and East), the immense former House of Ministries buildings (and one of the very few surviving Nazi ministry buildings) and from there head to the last surviving of the BT - variant Watchtower (which we can actually ascend).

The tour finishes at Potsdamer Platz, once one of the busiest city intersections in Europe it was decimated by the end of the Second World War and what remained was further erased due to the construction of the Wall and the development of the death-strip. Now a bustling commercial and entertainment district it is a stark symbol of how a city can rebound from what was a social catastrophe if there ever was one.

This tour was absolutely amazing! Paul did an excellent job educating our group on the facts from the Cold War, the Berlin Wall, the City as a whole, and answering all other miscellaneous questions that we had for him.
Paul was very timely, met us with a smile in an easy location to find, and provided plenty of tour options along the way!
The inclement weather did not hamper his spirits, as he remained extremely professional throughout the tour. We were all absolutely astonished of his ability to recall facts from history, even when we threw him a few curve balls along the way!
Our small group of 5 people agreed that the tour far exceeded our expectations and was well worth the money we spent!

Paul was fantastic, he spent the time to go into detail about the Berlin Wall and the Cold War and answered any of our questions. Would recommend anyone do this tour if you want to learn from an expert guide. It was worth paying extra for a private Tour.

Great tour with the fantastic Aaron - lovely guy, down to earth, easy to chat to, good level of knowledge and lots of good accompanying material to share. Went with my 15-year-old son who is studying the Cold War at school, and we both learned a lot. Would highly recommend.

Steve is exceptionally knowledgeable in the topic and he has a fantastic sense of humor. It did not feel like an official tour and more like a friendly promenade with a friend who happens to be a comedian and a professor of history rolled into one. He adapted the tour to our interests.Highly recommend !

Beth was a wonderful guide for this walking tour in English. The tour was primarily supposed to be a cold war tour, but since I was also interested in German and Nazi history, Beth gave me a nice introduction to the history of Germany, rise of the Nazi party, WWII and then the division of Germany and Berlin after the war. Beth is a student of history and very knowledgeable and she was happy to tailor the tour according to my specific needs and answer all my questions. We started at Reichstag, visited the Roma and Cinti memorial, Soviet memorial of WW II and made several other stops related to WWII and the Cold War including a stop at Check point Charlie. At the end of the tour, she recommended me to visit Tranenpalast and some other free museums.

This was an expensive tour since I was required to pay the price for two even though I was the only one person in the tour. But I am glad that I still took it. A tour like this needs a guide who is knowledgeable and has good command over the language. Beth was fully equipped. I recommend this tour and Beth as a guide. Just be prepared to walk though since you will need to walk for 3- 4 hours to see all these wonderful historical sites!

Aaron was a awesome guide. He was very passionate and informative with all his information that he presented. His tour was very organized and had a good plan so we could see a lot. So much to see. It was a great history lesson. My wife and I leaned a lot.

We were very lucky to be assigned Aaron whose knowledge is exceptional and his enthusiasm on the subject was infectious. The tour takes you to all the expected locations and Aaron goes into as much detail as you can handle explaining each site. A great tour with a truly great guide. A word of warning though, there is some traveling via public transport required so extra expense is required which was unexpected.

Started badly with the tour guys going to our hotel and we went to a meeting point (my fault!)
But this was sorted out very efficiently by the company. When the guide arrived (Francesco) he could not have been more apologetic. The tour lasted well in excess of the 3 hours and covered so much history, I could not find 1 Fault. It was bitterly cold and wet but that was not able to spoil our day. I have to give a big thanks to Francesco who was such a friendly and kind guide and his knowledge was exemplary. You will not be disappointed if you book this tour
