If you are looking for a day to to get away from the crowds and relaxe on a beach with great food/service/drinks, then 5 stars. This was exactly what was needed on day 5 of our cruise. The 2 hostesses were awesome and friendly. It might not be for everyone, it is a 30min drive from the port and it's not a upscale resort, but again, for myself and travelers, EXACTLY what was needed.

Unfortunately, due to bad weather conditions our cruise ship wasn't able to dock in Costa Maya and we missed such a wonderful opportunity. But I have to say that the tour operator was very responsive and solved our issue quick and nicely. This is what I call customer service! Thank you very much and hope to actually make it one day to this beautiful beach :)

Pleasantly surprised at this wonderful excursion. I would highly recommend it. From the pick up to the drop off we enjoyed every bit of it. On a Royal Caribbean cruise...My wife and I along with another couple, all thoroughly enjoyed our time on the beach and the food and beverages! My pro tip on this: Leave the port area asap in order to beat the other cruisers to the beach. Doing so, you will get first pick of tables and chairs to enjoy the beach, breeze and sun. The food exceeded our expectations and we would do it again for sure. Geo and Ally were wonderful hosts with their excellent service. Our trip was all inclusive. Bathrooms were clean and they fed us shrimp ceviche and guacamole then brought out beef tacos it was delicious. Beach was a bit rocky at the waters edge so bring your water shoes. Once you get past the rocks it is sandy and clear. We visited in a season when they was a lot of seaweed, but you could tell they cleared out the area in anticipation of us. We shared the beach with about 20 other people. But would do it again in a heartbeat!

celebrating my husbands birthday we went here and were the only guests. it was a bit tricky to find our guide outside of the port. the beach was just ok. the area was odd with a few abandoned looking shacks and one of the shacks is where we got drinks and food. my husband didn't like the looks of the place and was afraid to eat there. what I tried was good.

My husband and I visited this private beach during the third week of April 2024. We came into port on the Carnival Jubilee, and then decided to book this through Trip Advisor based on other reviews.
We exited the port and walked a block north where there was an area which had a sign with my name. My husband and I were the only ones, so we had our own driver to the private beach and we read detailed reviews prior to booking. The drive from the port to the beach was probably 35 minutes into nowhere, but our driver drove very fast, which I appreciated. The road out there is two lane for quite a distance and you feel as if you're driving into oblivion and we were somewhat skeptical at first, but I remembered the reviews. After we exited the road, we went down a sandy, private drive, equally as remote, and our driver pulled up to a small beach pavilion to drop us off....the place is called Playa Xahuayxol and part of the Mexican Caribbean. We were greeted by the hostess, "G", as we'll call her as to not give out actual names, and we were the only ones there. The property had about eight other individual units, and she said others were there, but hadn't wondered over the main restaurant/bar area yet. My husband and I sat down on the picnic table and "G" was right there to serve us anything we wanted. As a bonus, the place had two dogs who loved being around everyone, and would make sand circles and lie down at your feet. We then wondered into the water, wading chest high, and the place was stunning and beautiful as well as remote. "G" was extremely accommodating and strived hard to make it a wonderful experience, with a very laid back vibe. After a while, we got two kayaks and paddled out to the reef to snorkel, where we enjoyed viewing the abundance of sea plants (especially bright and beautiful purple sea fans) and some fish...much more vibrant plant life than fish. When we returned, we were served more drinks and the best ceviche and guacamole we've ever had. Once we were finished for the day, the same driver came and drove us back to port.
We don't like to return to places we've already been, but a return here is a must. Do not let the remoteness and distance of the adventure keep you from booking. It is extremely laid back and if you're looking for a plush, high end resort, this is not your place, and that is why we loved it. The authenticity of the culture and country was abundant and we would highly recommend it....best kept secret in the area in our opinion, and all of the people can keep their overpriced, overpacked ports.

Outstanding find in Costa Maya through TripAdvisor. Beautiful private beach with all inclusive food and drinks. Taxi service to the beach is pre-arranged and waiting for you 2 blocks from the cruise port. It's a long drive (maybe 30 minutes) but the trip is well worth it. We shared the whole beach with 2 couples, escaping the crowds from 4 cruise ships in Costa Maya that day. A few details:
- Beach is beautiful and the water is clear. We went without beach shoes, but it would be better to have them since there are lots of shells. You can wade in the warm water up to your chest for 20-30 yards out and that's fantastic. It's difficult to go further out because there is a shallow raised ledge (reef?) that prevents you from going further unless you are an experienced swimmer and have the right equipment. It's perfect however for those who just want to enjoy warm clear water to swim and bounce around in.
- Food and drinks. All inclusive. They served chips and guacamole and a generous quantity of shrimp ceviche as a snack. It was amazingly good! Lunch consisted of both beef and chicken tacos--again very good and fresh. A wide assortment of fruity drinks were available (with or without alcohol) at no charge.
- Snorkeling. The owners have kayaks and full-face snorkeling masks available. For the best snorkeling you would have to take the kayak out to the reef and be an experienced swimmer with all the right equipment (particularly fins). You cannot put your feet down on the reef. This is likely not a snorkeling place for anyone but the best swimmers.
- Getting there and getting back. The pickup point was a couple blocks beyond the main port (near the roundabout) where the taxis accumulate. No specific time was provided except that they are there waiting for up to 2 hours after passengers can disembark. You can pick your return time to assure you get back in time.
This was a great experience!

Giordana helped us with drinks and guacamole and chips. She also served Ceviche, but that was the extent of the food offered.
I would say don't go there expecting a clean beach after a full moon, as it was about 4 to 10 feet deep with seaweed from the rough water.
I enjoyed my snorkeling, and can imagine how beautiful it would have been if the sea had not been so rough that day.

Very private beach location. The food and drink was excellent. Our hostess (Gia) did a wonderful job as ccok, bartender and everything we needed. The water was perfect and we snorked in pure blue water.

The definition of paradise. I almost don’t want to write a review because I don’t want anyone to know about this place and it become another major tourist attraction. :D The staff was extremely accommodating and on top of everything. They made our time there so enjoyable! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!
