Our guide, Helen, and our driver, Alex, took great care to see to it that we were able to get as much out of our visit as possible, considering that they had to slow down their pace to accommodate our old legs, knees, ankles, etc. Helen was incredibly knowledgeable about French history as it applies to the chateaux that we visited. She was also personable and very easy to talk with and ask questions of. Alex was ready when we needed him to be. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know more about the chateaux of the Loire Valley than a standard group tour can provide.

Our guide Valentin extended the magnificent experience by navigating the tour leveraging his knowledge nurtured through his academic background of studying history and his experience as professional ballet dancer, surely adding more depth in explaining on transition of French monarchy and its cultural impacts in association with the sites we visited.
The excursion to 3 castles under May Loire weather was beyond description, which experience was magnified by the wine tasting experience providing the opportunity to enjoy Loire wine produced by the local winery. We ended up with buying 3 bottles on site while also asking for future shipment after return as the quality and the reasonable price surely would justify paying extra shipping cost.
We cannot thank Valentin and the driver more for our very memorable and fabulous experience!

What a fantastic day we had! Our driver was polite, efficient, and got us everywhere safely. Our guide Elena was lovely. She messaged me the night before (make sure you have WhatsApp) and they arrived right on time to pick us up in the morning. Elena walked us through each castle and gave great historical context for everything. She took many great pictures of us along the way. We were able to see so much in one day! We never felt rushed but were able to keep on schedule to see everything. The order of the castles is perfect and Amboise was lovely for lunch. Elena asked us what we wanted to eat then took us straight to the restaurant and got a table for us. The winery tour was very neat as well. Overall, well worth booking!
The car was very comfortable and bottled water was provided. They even had umbrellas for us to use and we had forgotten ours. Merci beaucoup!

We booked this tour to the wrong location. We meant to go to the champagne region not the city of Champagné.
We realized this immediately when we met our driver and when we told him he was immediately argumentative and unhelpful. His English was not great so we could not have a conversation about what we wanted to do about the situation.
Instead of being kind and patient while we figured out what we should do he was very pushy and rude trying to just get us in the car so we could go somewhere we had no interest in going.
We had already paid for the trip in advance and it was our fault so we understood that we couldn’t get our money money back but he was so unpleasant about the whole situation we decided to just get out after driving a few blocks because we did not want to spend 5 hours in a car with this man.

We had an excellent experience on our private tour to Chambord, d'Amboise, & Chenonceau with Valerie & Roman. Valerie was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of France & was very kind and engaging. Roman provided a comfortable, safe ride.

All of the castles were beautiful and very different. The village of Amboise was also a fun visit. Valerie was so knowledgeable about the history of each castle, had fun anecdotes and really brought it all to life.
The family winery was just okay. It was a simple tasting room and there were 10 other people there. I would have thought for the price of this trip the winery would have been a private tasting and the wines a bit better. This is no reflection on Valerie but more for Viator to improve the expereince given the price.

WARNING: Clewel Travel is corrupt. Or at least their tour guide Olga is seriously compromised. We had pre booked and prepaid their three castle, wine tasting all day tour. We were being picked up at our hotel at 7:30AM. She confirmed in text the night before. Around 730 she texts saying another party being picked up before us was running late. Then another text saying she be an hour late so have a relaxing breakfast. Then another saying she was cancelling. Even an hour after that TripAdvisor had no knowledge of her cancellation. Clewel seems to have filled our prepaid spot with a more convenient pickup or perhaps outbid and did the tour without us.
DO NOT TRUST CLEWEL TRAVEL. You will be left on the curb and a ruined day. FRAUD.

Our tour of of the Lorei Valley was an amazing experience! Valerie was a knowledgeable, friendly, and fun tour guide, and Yunadi was an excellent, safe driver! It’s not an easy feat to navigate the streets of Paris on Bastille Day, but he navigated those streets safely and like a pro. Valerie shared history and interesting stories about the palaces and those who inhabited them throughout our drive. Our family of six would love to do another tour with both Valerie and Yunadi!
