We like food tours the first day we arrive in Europe to help push through jet lag.
This year we went to Athens for a Greek vacation.
What can I say? Constantina spilled a secret Greeks have kept to themselves for generations - Athens is GREAT at Christmas. Annual custom that most Greeks come to Athens during Christmastime (no tourists and under 90deg). Crowds were so fun, weather was in the 50s - reminded us of going to NYC at Thanksgiving. Was a GREAT food tour for the 4 of us. Our hotel was right in the middle of Athens on Syntagma square. Promptly at 6pm we met Constantina at our hotel and took off down Ermou street. We had the best Souvlaki, a Greek wine tasting, shots of Masticha in the Plaka, a dinner sampler with Ouzo & Raki and ended with a choice of 12 flavors of gelato or sorbets. Crowds were fun, restaurants were so pretty and decorated for Christmas. Constantina knew the food, the history of the churches we stopped at, the regions of the Greek wines we tasted and ditto for the cheeses. As a native Athenian, she was delightful, knowledgeable and did a great job effortlessly getting us done in time. Such a great start to a few weeks in Greece.

This tour was really very good. It included 5 different stops to taste food and wine. It even included a stop to taste olive oil. The tour guide was knowledgeable, patient, and the pacing was just right. The food was great, tasty, and portions were perfect.

My wife, daughter, son in law and I were in Athens to celebrate my 65th birthday. We did this tour on our first full day. Meani was our tour guide and was incredible! We cannot say enough nice things about her!
The food was great and the wine and liquor outstanding.. If you have the time we would definitely recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Mini was so kind…I have a bad leg and she made sure I could sit during the olive oil tasting. She gave us a great tour with lots of good information.

Our guide Ismini was amazing! She had great information about the city and the places we visited. The restaurants and vendors were all great, very fun to listen to, and everything we tried was yummy! One of the best tours we did on our trip

We took the advice of another reviewer and booked this tour on the day that we arrived from the overnight flight and it was absolutely perfect.
Eirhnh (Irini) was an incredible guide: she was engaging and well-informed, tolerated my infinite curiosity and brought us to delightful places for excellent food selections. All of the food and drinks were delicious - it’s hard to nominate favourites. The wine was particularly remarkable though! Our entire group was an absolute pleasure to get to know. ❤️
