Potsdam has 17 palaces, 4 royal villas, multiple lakes, manicured gardens, follies and water fountains dotted over hundreds of green acres. Potsdam is brimming with fascinating history - home to the 'Soldier King', Fredrick the Great who hosted Voltaire in his fabulous Sanssouci palace. Dutch artisans left their indelible mark here in the 18th century. Visit the last palace built during the German empire, Cecilienhof Palace, the location of the Potsdsam Conference where Churchill (later Attlee), Stalin and Truman sealed the fate of post war Europe. See the opulance of the 'New' and Sanssouci palaces. Walk over the 'bridge of spies' - Glienicke bridge, see Potsdam's Brandenburger Tor and the stunning "church of Peace". Lovely trip through a wonderful part of Germany. Saw the history of Potsdam through its buildings and Jamie explained it all very clearly.

Guide, Jamie, is a wealth of knowledge. There’s so much to see in Potsdam and having a guide makes it a lot easier to get around. It was a great day out without worrying about where and how.

The wealth of historical knowledge from our guide, the bridge of spies, the original Brandenburg Gate and Frederic the Great’s Vineyard (where he is buried with his nine dogs) and New Castle.

Be warned that this 6 hour tour turned into 7 and we were walked 5 miles without being allowed to go into a single building, except for 25 minutes to pick up a fast food. If that wasn't bad enough, we had to stop and stand for hours listening to our tour guide provide his own interpretations and bias of historical people events, including Jesus. There is an instruction on this tour that ticket to the indoors is not included, giving you the impression that you may be able to go inside somewhere. The tour guide said we could go in on our own after the tour was over, but he would leave and we'd have to find our own way back home. This kind of information needs to be added, so that people don't waste their time with this tour.

This was a wonderful tour with a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, Jim. My favourite parts were the histories of post-war Berlin and the Cold War, particularly the Glienicke Bridge, aka the Bridge of Spies. Jim's commentary was not only interesting but lively and not bogged down with dry facts. He also brought along pictures to illustrate who and what he was talking about. Potsdam itself is beautiful and I'd love to go back.

The whole tour was memorable. It was an action packed day for a very beautiful town. It was a great overview and our energetic guide, Jim, encouraged us to linger in town after and revisit some of our favorite spots. Great pace for the day. Would even suggest maybe making this trip at least an hour longer to take in more of the sites. But overall a good combo of sites and experiences.

I did the Potsdam tour with Eran and concentration camp tour with Mikhail. Both were excellent, knowledgeable guides. I learned so much on both tours. Incredible value for the price.
