Portuguese gastronomy has so much to offer: famous for its wine, meat & seafood, its 'conventual' desserts & much more; from Mediterranean influences and the legacy of Portugal's colonial history, namely in the wide variety of spices used.

I will present you with a selection of tastes, flavors, cultural influences and cooking techniques through small plates and the right beverage (wines, liqueurs, juice), while wandering through historic neighborhoods and some of the hidden corners of the city.

With stories from the present and from the past, you will have a full cultural immersion in this old city.

When we arrive in a new city we like to start with a food tour. It gives you a sense of the lay out of the city, shows you some great places to come back to for a meal and you often get to see the sites and some history about about where you are.
We did this tour with Lenor our outstanding tour guide. We have been to a lot of cities and had some very good tours but none perhaps as enthusiastic as she was.
Our tour outline is below and Lenor has kept us informed of recipes, other tours and information in general. As a result we plan to go back.
STOP 1
Ham from Bísaro pork
Quince marmalade with 4-month cured São Jorge Cheese
Dow’s Tawny Porto Wine
Broa - Traditional corn bread

STOP 2
Massamba - Mozambican veggie curry, bean stew and coconut rice

Beef Chamuças
Sparkling white wine, red wine or beer

STOP 3
Codfish à Trigueirinho
Sparkling green wine (Vinho Verde)

STOP 4

Adriana is amazing! We learned so much about Lisbon, its history and food scene as we were walking through three neighborhoods. The tastings were substantial and varied and there was something at every one of the four restaurants where we stopped that appealed to everyone on our tour - our favorites were Bisaro ham, Mozambican bean stew, codfish a Trigueirinho, and sheep cheese from Seia with homemade tomato jam. All were accompanied by delicious wines, including tawny port, sparkling white, vinho verde, and ginginha. The stops were places we never would have found on our own, but would definitely recommend for a repeat visit. There is a LOT of walking (about 6,500 steps on our tour), including up and down stairs and hills on uneven cobblestone, so it would not be easy for mobility impaired persons, or parents pushing a pram. Highly recommended for Adriana's expertise, delicious food and wine choices, and making it a really fun and filling gastronomic experience!

Livia was an incredible guide and host for the evening. We got great information about the food of Portugal, as well as commentary on a number of the sites that we passed. The places she took us all had amazing food, as well as a very fun experience.

Enjoyed a wonderful December food tour with Miguel. He was super passionate about his profession and very informative about the history of his country and its cuisine! I really enjoyed the entire tour. All of the food and drinks were delicious and the people on the tour were a lot of fun to hang out with. Overall a highly worthwhile and recommended experience to enrich your visit to Portugal. What are you waiting for? You will not regret booking.

I've been on many food tours, in many cities and countries around the world. This food tour was one of the best! Our guide, Rodrigo, was excellent. He was friendly Lisbon native with excellent knowledge of the area and Lisbon's diverse food offerings. We were particularly impressed by his attention to detail regarding foods that my pregnant wife could or could not eat (no unpasteurized dairy, etc). We visited several local establishments, and it was clear that Oh! My Cod maintains a relationship with all of them. All of the food was delicious and the diversity was impressive as well. We were also pleased that the guide emailed the group a list of local recommendations after the tour. This was nice so we could avoid touristy (and overpriced) places, and get an authentic feel for the city. Overall an excellent experience. Would recommend to anyone!

This food tour was excellent! We tried an interesting variety of foods, quite a few of them not what you would expect to have but are still a quintessential part of the Lisbon food scene. We also had plenty of great wine and lots of great conversation with Rodrigo.

We’ve been on food tours all over Europe, this was definitely one of the top. The passion for sharing Portuguese food and culture was evident! They were extremely accommodating with pregnancy food restrictions and even arranged for tastes that were specific just for me. We went back to one of the stops for dinner, and followed several other recommendations our guide shared. Rodrigo was fantastic!
